Lovely flat exactly as shown in photos. Quiet location near to shops, tasty restaurants and bars. Appx. 10 minutes walk into the centro storico or the Forum areas.
Carla was a gracious host who was very understanding when our flight was delayed by an hour meaning we arrived in Rome quite late! A wealth of information, she provided some excellent restaurant recommendations and answered any questions we had.
Nice and spacious appartement.. Good location! Carla showt us the import thins of public transport and things to see on a map, very usefull.. The ad said there will be breakfast but there isn't any.. Not a big problem because the bar 20 meters down the streets sells really good stuff to make your own breakfast.
The apartment is perfect. Great location in the quiet Trastevere. Carla is a great host.
Der Kontakt war sehr angenehm und die Lage super. Sehr zu empfehlen
The apartment was fantastic, located in a very friendly little street, just round the corner from some really nice bars and restaurants.
We were slightly late in arriving to the flat, over an hour and a half over what I had originally told Carla, but she couldn't have been more accommodating. She waited on to meet us, then showed us around the flat and then gave us a quick run-down of some of best places to visit (I had asked her if she would do this when I first booked it). She even arranged a booking for us at a restaurant round the corner, which we ended up eating in at around 11pm; it was delicious.
All in all, we couldn't have been more pleased with the experience.
Thought the apartment was well located within walking distance of most of the major attractions (approx 20-30 mins), and there are plenty of restaurants and bars near the apartment if you get tired of sightseeing. Whilst the apartment doesn't have much natural light, it is a good size and the pictures provided are very accurate. Our host Carla was great. She gave us loads on information and maps when we arrived and even arranged a car to take us to and from the airport. We really enjoyed our time in Rome and would definitely return.
La Signora Carla is a woman from Milan who has lived in Rome for many years. The Briciola apartment is accurately described, and she herself is both personable and helpful with any questions. She has maps and info for guests, and the apartment has abundant hot water and a small kitchen. As it is a low apartment, there is not a lot of external light, but plenty of artificial light.
The location is great if you like to walk, or wish to explore Trastevere. Many cafes, restaurants, even a laundry within a few steps. We learned how to get to other parts of Rome via tram and bus - no metro stop nearby.
The apartment used to be an office - so it might benefit from a few more hooks and shelves especially in the shower. Most nights the neighborhood is silent, but one night - Saturday - a group of young people brought out a speaker and blasted hip hop until after midnight - one heard every note.
Apart from that, our experience with la Briciola was positive and enjoyable. One more good thing: As we were heading to the train station, no bus came and our time was running short. By Plaza Sonnino there are always taxis - this saved us from missing our train.
Carla was wonderful and the place was perfect. Close enough to all the main attractions but also nestled amongst some wonderful, good-value restaurants. Carla was very helpful and had great recommendations. Would stay again.
Carla was very welcoming and helpful during our visit to Rome. The neighborhood is incredible and the apartment is pretty cool. The apartment is on the ground level and tucked in between tall buildings on either side, so you do not get much natural light inside the apartment. The photo on the listing was taken with the large front doors open which you wouldn't do while staying there. The apartment was also very musty, especially the bed up in the loft. It is an old building so I guess this can be expected, but all of our clothes smelled musty by the time we left. The bathroom is great and the kitchen, while dark, provides space for preparing simple meals. Overall, if you are just looking for a place to store your stuff and sleep while exploring Rome, this apartment is great.
Carla was very nice and easy going, she took time to explain us how to explore Rome, the most important and interesting sites to visit; she recommended us some restaurants in Trastevere (we went to "Le Mani in Pasta", just around the corner, and we loved it. 100% recommended). Her loft is beautiful and huge and the decoration is fantastic; you will feel transported in time. It was comfortable for us. Trastevere is a very interesting neighborhood to explore, full of bars and restaurant and night life, very safe to walk until late night. It was an awesome experience. Thank you Carla for your kindness! We will be back!
