I am a writer and my husband is a retired firecaptain. We both lead workshops in non-violence and compassionate living. We are quiet, non-smokers, non-drinkers. We would be mostly visiting friends and hiking while there. Thanks for any info...

This was a beautiful house and property with a great, loving vibe. Our visit with Rae was brief, but she was immensely kind and helpful. I'd love to visit again someday.
Going to Santa Fe is a treat! And, staying at Rae's home is an especially wonderful sanctuary. Everything was as pictured: beautiful colors, comfortable space, a delightful, bird-filled yard (we even got to water and fill the feeders to keep all the feathered ones around!). The location is about 10 minutes by car - which is a really needed to be here and have the mobility to see all the sights in the area anyway - from the Plaza in Santa Fe...and from Trader Joe's or Whole Foods, Target and everything else that is easy and familiar. This area is very quiet and star-filled at night. The house is situated so that it collects heat during the day and radiates at night - and since the overnight temperature during the visit went to the low 30 degrees (Fahrenheit), the house was warm even without using the wood stove.
Communicating with Rae was easy and very available before, during and after our time there. This is a gem for those of us who like a real retreat.
Rae's home is an absolute paradise. Just outside Santa Fe, there's total peace and quiet, along with a beautiful view of the mountains and the city below. (A boon when napping in the hammock!) My husband and I were invited to partake in the food growing in the garden, which is such a lovely treat when you've been on the road and want something fresh and yummy. We felt completely at home and would absolutely stay here again if passing through another time.
A colorful, cosy and clean place outside of town, with lots of birds and art. I spent a lot of time just relaxing in a hammock gazing at clouds and mountains. Rae did everything to make us feel welcome and at-home.
We had a great time staying at dog lovers paradise. I miss our sweet quite dog companion Bapu. It was a perfect place for us. Far enough out out town to be quite but bot too far. Very comforatable. I look forward to returning whenever we are in the area. I adore Rae. She made us feel right at home.
