Francesco was very friendly and was patiently waiting for us despite our late arrival at the train station. There are 70 very steep stairs to the apartment, but we found an alternate route with 66 less steep steps and chose to use that during our stay. The apartment is charming and clean, with a brand new washing maching. (We really needed that at this point in our vacation.) There were three of us, so appreciated the two bedrooms. The only "easy" hiking path open this time of year was just up the street from our apartment. We had to grab the 5:00 a.m. train, so liked how close the station is to the apartment. The only negative was with the wi-fi, which dropped out all the time, but could be "fixed" by unplugging and re-plugging the hub back in again.
Simonetta was so kind person.
Access from vernazza
station is so good.
It's a nice apartment in a beautiful village! Very near the Vernazza train station. Francesco is a wonderful host and it was great that he came to the train station to pick us up.
Francesco was a gracious and wonderful host. He met us at the train station and helped us to his home. It was very cozy and really felt like we were residents in vernazza. Highly recommended!
Amazing how hosts meet you at the train station. Francisco met me and took me down to the harbor. On the way he pointed out interesting things and we discussed dining options. Yes we had steep steps, so I recommend just bringing a backpack for a couple of days. You are right on the way to the castle. At the bottom of the stairs is a bar (coffee/alcohol) where you can relax with the locals and watch the town go by. Two restaurants are at the bottom of the stairs, I chose the Red Shrimp. Nice experience. Apartment is just that. One room double bed and bunks in the other. Large great room for lounging and eating but I just had breakfast at the kitchen bar. Full kitchen if you wanted to open a restaurant. Stocked with basics and the stores just on the main drag. This space was very large for me by my self but would be perfect for small family or two couples if one took the bunks. I chose this space because of location, but seeing Vernazza I think anywhere would be fine to sleep and shower. Vernazza much smaller than I had imagined. Thank you Simonette and Fransico!
We had a wonderful 3 nights stay in Vernazza. We were met at the station for the short walk back to the apartment. There may be about 30 steps in total up the small back alley and including about 15 up to the appartment, but we managed this fine with our large backpacks on. The apartment is basic but comfortable for 2 and great hot water. The wifi needed to be turned off and on a few times but when we got it to work it wasnt too bad. We could not get the washing machine to work as it would not fill with water, and so we ended up hand washing..
Communication was fast but mostly in Italian, but we got by ok. We were very happy we chose Vernazza to stay in and the other towns as day trip destinations, vernazzas square is situated on the water and this appartment is just off the main square.
Wonderful stay! We loved Vernazza and should have stayed for more than one night. The apartment was exactly as advertised and very clean. We were even surprised with a new bag of ground coffee for the morning. Francesco met as at the train station and was helpful pointing out a good place to eat. We will stay here again for our next (hopefully longer) visit!
Francesco est venu nous chercher à la gare et nous a accompagné jusqu'à l'appartement en se proposant de monter les bagages malgré ses 66 ans.
L'appartement est agréable dans une petite ruelle a l'écart de la foule.

Our hosts did well in suggesting we arrive by rail rather than by car, which we left at Sestri Levant. Francesco met us at the rail station and walked us the 3 minutes to the apartment, which included some very steep steps at the end (OK for us). The place was perfect for a couple (small master BR) + one adult companion (small bunk room). Kitchen adequately outfitted for us to prepare breakfast (an more if we had wanted) with nice, but compact kitchen. Small bath was serviceable and clean, and accessible from the common area. It was raining so we welcomed well-working heat first thing in the morning. No wi-fi and no cell service. Had to walk 50+ m. away, outside, for cell service which was inconvenient. Cleanliness good, except for a film of white dust on the floor (from recent handy-work?).
Francesco met us at the station and led us on the short walk to this lovely studio apartment. We had our 2 daughters with us, making a party of 4. Francesco had set up the 2 extra beds. There is enough room to walk around and space for our luggage but it was a little cramped. The spacious bathroom was a real plus. We loved Vernazza and hiking in the National Park. We would definitely stay here again.
