I'm french and I live in Bali with my husband and my 2 two children for almost 5 years
I'd traveled in many place in the world and I'll be happy to share with you my passion for Bali.
Had a great stay in this villa but worth noting it is now managed by a local realty company. A very comfortable villa and loved the pool. It is tucked away so very quiet but close enough to the main strip in Seminyak. We hired scooters to make trips to restaurants and shops a bit easier. Did feel the garden could do with a spruce up and there were some minor issues during our stay ( a few rampant mice, power outage and toilets clogging )but all were promptly dealt with once the manager was notified. The villa manager, Nyoman Ladra, was extremely efficient and happy to help with any thing we needed. Lo, the maid, was on hand from 8am until late afternoon and happy to run small errands as well as cleaning the villa daily. We had a bad start to our stay when our booked transport was not at the airport to greet us and the villa was not ready for our arrival despite arriving at 5pm. This was apologised for and explained so all was forgiven. Would recommend, however we do prefer the quieter end of Seminyak and less keen on Jl Raya Seminyak area, but that is not a reflection on the villa or the service.
We spend on Villa AMSA one month and it was perfect! Villa looks tottally like on pictures, all staff was very helpfull, they adviced as good nannys for our 3 kids and it made our vacations really carefree. About 10 min. walking for the clothest beach, about 10 min walking to the big supermarket, shop, many restaurants in Seminyak area. So villa very good situated. Villa was very comfortable for kids! (i do not know if kids was very comfortable for villa=)) So, thank you Verry much AnneLise, hope to see you next year!

We absolutely loved the house we stayed in. It was really charming, nice, clean, and had everything we needed. Location of the house was also great, being just about 10mins walk to Jalan Double Six. The host, Benoit was superb and extremely helpful. He made the effort to come down to see if we're doing fine on our first day as well as answering our queries about Bali. His local tips and advice really made our stay complete. Overall, we had an excellent experience and would definitely recommend this place to others!
We came as a group of four adults and an infant, and the villa turned out to be exactly as the photos in the listing. It was very pretty, cosy, clean and altogether a great place to relax and unwind with close friends and family.
Location was good, with walking access to food, shops and the beach, but it is better to hire a driver if you have small children. Owner Jouffrieau was very helpful and attended to our requests during the stay promptly. Housekeeper was also attentive and trustworthy. It was a great, smooth and memorable experience in all. We wished had stayed longer than the 4 days that we had at the villa!!
As a group of 4 ladies needing a chilled weekend away from busy Singapore this could not have been more perfect. The Villa and all the amenities are fabulous, the atmosphere of the place made us all instantly unwind and both Salma and Benoit were very helpful. The location, when we managed to drag ourselves away from the lovely villa, was also great with everything you need just a short walk (or even shorter scooter ride) away. It was quite a wrench to leave and all of us are already talking about coming back as soon as possible!
Arrived in Seminyak after spending 4 nights at an Ubud resort and found Villa Amsa to be exactly what I needed for my young family, which included a 4, 6 and 8 year old. After struggling to contain three children within a resort, Villa Amsa allowed me the chance to just relax whilst being able to keep a close on on my children, not worried by sharing with other guests or disturbing other peoples peace. I was greeted on arrival by Salma, the housekeeper, who, whilst speaking little English, was welcoming, warm and friendly. I was also met by a stand in for the host who was immediately hospitable and friendly and helpful and answered all my questions. Being self contained meant I could shop at Bintang supermarket and prepare my own food, which was easy in the kitchen that had everything I needed. The rooms were delightful, with air conditioning and lovely adjoining bathrooms for each. The tv kept the children entertained with some dvds bought in bali. I was able to commute by asking the housekeeper to call a taxi, which was needed as my four year old was not keen on walking, however if I was on my own I would say that everything is in walking distance and taxis are not really necessary. Salma quietly went about cleaning up after myself, but more importantly my children which was exactly what I needed for my holiday to be a real "holiday"!. The host Benoit made himself available just short of the end of my stay and he was also welcoming and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. I would highly recommend Villa Amsa, with its reasonable rates, absolutely gorgeous lay out and decor, a perfect pool and friendly staff. I was sad to leave as the pool ended up being the place my four year old learnt to swim! Lovely memories.
This villa is just aptly named and is indeed extremely charming. the rooms are spacious, the bathrooms amazing, the pool looks small but is perfect and the location is pretty central with cabs easily available to take you to double six beach as well as to jalan raya seminyak or the main shopping streets of seminyak square.
The housekeeper salma is also wonderful ready to help although communicating with her can be quite interesting as she does not understand or speak too much English.
Benoit was absolutely great calling us when we arrived to make sure everything was good, dropping by as well as at our request providing us with a blender. also a children cot as asked was already set up on our room which was extremely nice of them.
the only small suggestion would be that in the hot months the air conditioning is too small for the room sizes and it takes a couple of hours to cool down therefore having to perhaps even leave them on when you step out.
otherwise i would happily recommend this villa to anyone visiting seminyak and looking for some privacy and yet being close to all the action.
Really beautiful villa located in the heart of seminyak and offer the peacefulness. well managed and maintained. The decor is amazing. It would be perfect if the pool is not like "S"-shape. it's hard to do laps. Overall, nice experience. Highly recommended. It will be one of my top list of villas in seminyak. Thanks Annelise!
The Villa Amsa is really a great place to stay in Bali, beautifully designed clean and very calm. It looks exactly like the pictures and even better.
The housekeeper Salma was really nice with us and Benoit the owner gave us helpful advices.
The villa is a 20-minute walk from one of the beach (double six beach), I would recommend the house to my friends.
Villa Amsa is a great place to be on Bali. I haven't seen a holiday house which is so nice decorated in every room. The owners did a great job in every detail of the house.
The Villa has an open kitchen und living room to the garden and pool and 3 separate bedrooms which can be locked. Every room has a good size and a good working A/C. The master bedroom is a bit bigger. Beds are queen/queen/king and extremely comfortable. The house is equipped with free WiFi - but internet speed is not the best.
The maid comes everyday and did an excellent job. She also looks after the house all day so no foreigers can come in. Nevertheless there is a small safe in the master bedroom.
The pool is larger than the pictures show. And pretty deep. So it's a fun place during the day. The pool boy comes every second day and also did a good job.
The house is located approx. 15 walking minutes away from the beach (which is not the best in Seminyak) and about 5-10 min. away from the main shopping road in Seminyak with restaurants and bars. Right beside the house is a mini market with food and drinks, 2 massage salons (which are very good and cheap) and the big estate of "Seminyak Villas" where you can book a car, organize trips or dine for a lot of money. Due to the fact that metered taxis cost almost nothing it is no big deal that the villa is a bit off the strip and beach.
Anyway, we would come again. It's a great place and definitely worth the money!!!
