Matt spent a few days in my apartment in NYC. It was a very harmonious Air BNB experience. He was clean, tidy and respectful and looked after my home with great care. I can highly recommend Matt as a guest to fellow hosts and I would most definitely welcome him back next time he is visiting NYC. Matt was a pleasure to host, thoughtful and extremely easy to communicate with, leaving the apartment in immaculate condition.
Mattie and his folks have stayed with us twice now—during late May in 2012 and 2013. They were clean, quiet, not imposing or demanding at all. In fact, convivial and cordial. In 2013, as before, Mattie was seriously engaged with his work, mostly outside the abode. The folks were often gone, too, having a good time this year as last, they said, visiting sites in L.A. only five to ten minutes away, such as the La Brea Tar Pits, the L.A. County Museum of Art, the Hollywood Forever Cemetery. They said they dined at the nearby BLD (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner) eatery (three blocks away). They were all completely forgiving of our inevitable foibles: for example, the washing machine door broke; its repair required almost two days’ downtime. And evidently we failed to supply a large-enough teapot. All the more so, just as before, we found Mattie and his folks to be some of the coolest, most palatable guests we’ve ever had! We hope and expect to host them again!
Mattie was an excellent guest during his two-week stay in late May, 2012. Quiet as a churchmouse. Not at all imposing or demanding. Extremely pleasant upon all encounters. Seriously engaged with his entertainment work (and perforce with his network of contacts in L.A.).
What a pleasure to have him as a guest--someone so unassuming yet cosmopolitan. At the end of his stay, we took him to the airport explicitly out of goodwill. Yet , right on up to the departure terminal at LAX, he insisted on paying us (we refused).
As another telling instance of character, Mattie was effortlessly patient with us when we upgraded our Wi-Fi router, forgetting to convey to him more or less at once the new guest log-on and password. So that's what you can expect of Mattie--ample reserves of coolness, calmness, and collectedness that make him an extraordinary guest.
