This room is good for a single person. You are isolate from the rest of the flat. Gaby is helpefull if you need something.
Very welcoming and accommodating. Good tips to get around Berlin!
Staying at Gaby's place was a very good experience. The room is very appropriate for someone travelling for both professional or touristic purposes. It has a lower part were one can sit at a table and work with a computer and an upper part were one only goes when it is time to sleep. Being in the entrance to the apartment, it is completely isolated from the rest of the house. Gaby's been very helpful and available and, the neighborhood is just the perfect combination of quiet area with lots of bars and restaurants. I recommend it, unless you are looking for an expensive and exclusive option.
The only drawnback for someone with physical limitations is the 4 floors you have to go up using stairs, but nothing too serious.
Overall, a very good choice.
Nice room in a great location. Gaby was friendly and helpful. She was able to accommodate my long-term stay on short notice. Much appreciated. Would recommend.
Staying with Gaby was very easy. The room is isolated from the rest of the apartment so you have a lot of privacy. Everybody was doing his thing without disturbing anyone. I liked that.
Gaby was a really nice host and her kids were great, and it was pretty easy to spend a month at her place - she was helpful when I asked for it, but we didn't see a whole lot of each other. Its a place I'd gladly stay again.
One great thing about the room is that its the front of the apartment, followed by a living room, followed by the bathrooms and the rooms where Gaby and her kids live - which makes it easy to come back late at night without disturbing everyone. Its right in the middle of Kreuzberg, where most of the fun stuff to do is, and there were literally 30 different places to eat that I wanted to try out nearby, and very close to the subway. Location wise, its pretty hard to beat.
The only thing I'd note is that the apartment is on the 4th (European) / 5th (American nomenclature) floor without an elevator - you should figure out if that will bother you. I didn't mind the walk, but could be an issue. Also, if you're very tall, you will hit your head a few times when sitting underneath the loft. Not a huge deal, but I'm 6'0 and definitely banged my head a few times.
Gaby was very friendly and helpful. She has a nice home and the area is fantastic. One of the best areas to be in in Berlin.
I stayed with Gaby for a month while I worked full-time for a designer in Berlin. Gaby was very hospitable during my stay. I found my room and the apartment very comfortable and clean. The location was great with plenty of local eateries and a close market. I had a bike for traveling (which is necessary) and was able to store it in the courtyard. I would recommend Gaby's guest room!
