What I'm doing currently: I work as a product manager at the professional social network (website hidden) (LNKD).
My travel style: budget backpacking has always been my travel style, lodging in local guesthouses and bnb's and swapping stories and routes with fellow backpackers.
The most beautiful places I've been: Istanbul, Kyoto, Florence, Vienna, Shanghai. The most relaxing: Santorini (Greece), Hawaii (USA).
Two great travel memoirs I've read: Under the Tuscan Sun; Shark's Fin and Sichuan Pepper: A Sweet-Sour Memoir of Eating in China
Things I can't do without:
- 3-hour dinners with good friends
- community bookstores
- independent cinema
- The New York Times, The New Yorker, The Economist
My style as a guest and host: I'm pretty chill and friendly; I love to meet new people, as well as host cool, respectful, engaging and reasonably tidy guests. I've written a bit about my hosting philosophy (for social gatherings) on my blog at: www 'andrewlchen' dot-then-com-then-slash 'observations-on-social-experience-design'
Note: Airbnb is making me write my blog website in this funky way because it keeps blocking the text otherwise - don't know why!
