We are semi retired psychotherapists and have lived here in Coupeville for 12 years. The move from Seattle to Whidbey Island took longer than we wanted. It was one of our better decisions to move here before retirement, establish our practices, and integrate into a wonderful and supportive community of friends and like-minded people. Coupeville has a very diverse and fascinating conglomeration of folks from retired military, third generation farmers, to sophisticated city folk who fled from the insanity of urban life. We feel blessed to be surrounded by the beauty and quiet of this unique Pacific Northwest island. We take pleasure in a bike ride, a hike, and a walk along the many beaches. Katlaina has a deep connection with nature, which gets expressed in the pleasure she gets from tending the gardens. She makes good use of the studio painting and making jewelry. Jerome, a former 60’s Berkeley activist, still has hope for creating a better world. He is involved in local and county politics to help preserve the natural beauty of the island and to make it safe from developers. Our family includes Rosie, our beloved Mini Schnauzer, and Reina, (Queen) our cat who lets us know every day that we are here to serve her. Our son and family—which includes three beautiful and very active girls-- (no bias here), who spend a couple of weeks with us to escape the intense heat of their Cabo San Lucas summers.
