I am an assistant professor of Economics at Smith College, in Northampton, MA where I teach microeconomics and African development. I do research in experimental economics and African development. Before moving to the US, I was a lecturer in economics at Royal Holloway, University of London. I completed my PhD at the University of Siena, Italy. I'm originally from Cape Town, South Africa. To get purge the woes of research, I do crossfit, walk my dog Sienna; or, Amy and I go to galleries, museums and theatre (before becoming an economist, I was an aspiring actor - how things change). I appreciate good coffee, good wine, good food, good chocolate and good company.
