It was very nice to have you stay at the villa. Am truly surprised to hear that you had problems, and so sorry you were disappointed with parts of the villa. You never mentioned it.
Yes, the wildlife is part of living on the rice paddies. We live on a jungle river gorge and directly next to the rice paddies. That is part of the charm of the villas for most people.
The geckos are definitely part of the environment and yes, they do poo, but that means they are eating the bugs and spiders. A good thing. They are also considered very good luck by the Balinese, and we are loathe to kill them.
We love the cycles of the rice paddies. The cutting of the fields often leads the critters needing to change their habitat and looking for a new place to live while the rice is being cut. Part of the cycle of life here.
And, in explanation, it was difficult for the staff to get into the house to clean since you very seldom went out and didn't open the house for them to come in. As we tell the guests, just open the front door if you want the staff to come in and clean. It is always good to let the girls in the villa to open the house to let it air out and to clean each morning.
Again, so sorry for any trouble or inconvenience for you.
Sincerely, Wayan and Mary
