hiking, opera singing, volleyball, etc..
A few friends and I stayed at Lauren's for a weekend, and we're glad we did! Her house is in a beautiful, quiet neighborhood and is very charming. The house has some unique touches which we enjoyed -- a tree in the kitchen, funny animal cabinet handles (my favorite was the triceratops), an arched doorway to the kids' room. She also has two cats who are very sweet. Lauren was easy to get a hold of and very accommodating. Downtown/ Pearl St was very close -- definitely walkable (15 - 20 mins) or a relatively inexpensive cab ride ($10 w/ tip). The only feedback we would have for anyone looking at the place is that it gets very sunny in both bedrooms so be prepared to wake up early (which was fine with us since we had lots of things to do).
I really enjoyed my stay at Lauren's home. She was a fine host, very accommodating and super helpful. Lauren was a delight to have conversations with. Her home was cute and clean. The room is perfect, I was able to fit my 2 large suitcases, a roll on suitcase and still be comfortable in it. I had ample room to sit at the desk and move around the space. The bed was very nice and I slept well.
I would highly recommend staying at her place. Great host, lovely, clean, and well situated home. Oh...and her 2 cats are cute and affectionate!
I was very pleased! The hosts, Lauren and Greg, were really friendly & hospitable and made us feel welcome. The beds are comfortable. It is a charming house in a lovely neighborhood about a 15 minute walk from Pearl St. and hiking trails. They also had two bikes we used a lot. I would stay there again. Very good value.
I wish I could give a good review, but I just have to be honest about a couple of things: One, the bed is a child's bunkbed, and anyone over maybe 4'3" can't sit on the bottom bunk. If they raised the top bunk a foot it would be OK, as long as they include a caveat about the bed (especially the length). Also the opening into the top bunk is too narrow for a "standard" adult. (The mattresses are quite good.)
The other thing is that the "walking distance to Pearl Street" is misleading. I once walked all the way from the Bronx to 28th Street but that doesn't mean it's "walking distance". A half mile is what both I and (website hidden) Maps accept. But here it's one and a quarter miles to Pearl Street, and that doesn't even get you to the business district.
Oh, one more thing: the listing shows the size of the house, not the room, which is about 70 square feet, not 1000.
Beautiful cottage in a perfect location in North Boulder. Pearl Street and North Boulder Park as well as multiple hiking trails were in easy walking distance. We had a delightful time.
Our stay with Lauren and family was truly special. The location was so close to everything, and Lauren was so helpful, it really added value to our stay. The neighborhood was wonderful, with a park close by. I left with great memories and would recommend the room to all that want a happy experience in beautiful Boulder. A+++
Lauren and Greg were very flexible in meeting up with us, and great at communicating. They answered all of our questions, and then gave us some spot on recommendations. All said - they were great hosts!
The cottage itself was great - clean, comfortable, and great location. I spent a lot of time in the hammock in the back yard! They also provided two bikes, and there are some great bike trails in the area. I absolutely recommend checking out the Boulder Creek (and if you're adventurous bring an inner tube!)
We had a great stay with Lauren and her family! They were very welcoming and accommodating hosts. We appreciated the engaging conversation, the use of the kitchen to cook meals and the helpfulness of borrowing their bikes to check out Boulder. The room slept two of us cozily and the bunk beds were remarkably comfortable.. The easy access to hiking, shopping, and excellent restaurants was appreciated, too. This urban cottage is definitely an excellent choice for staying in Boulder!
The Sawyers were quick to make you feel at home all around, but gave plenty of privacy for us. They were really seasoned in explaining the in's and out's of their house from previous guests. Their cats were so cute. Bikes work perfect. great mountain views. Great for anyone looking to spend a few nights in this great town.
The hosts were very kind and made me feel "at home". Although the bedroom is small with a bunk bed, it was comfortable. The location is excellent and the perfect launch spot for a bike trip through Boulder.
Lauren and her family were lovely guests! Kind, communicative and easy-going. I would definitely recommend them to other hosts.
