I work seasonally as a tour guide, sharing Alaska's beautiful, intimate (30,000 population) capital city with visiting cruise ship passengers. I normally travel internationally in the winter, using multi-modal transport (commercial/military aircraft [retired USN officer]); bus, train, public transit, bicycle, hiking, etc.) ,
My travel addiction has my journeys generally lasting 2-4 months. So far I 've enjoyed AirBnB's affordable options @closer to hostel prices, which have enabled me to live away from home as I do back in Juneau.
I've lived a variety of "lives": student/academic, military, corporate, small businessman.
I've sometimes been viewed as marching/thinking, to "a different drummer" than the "typical" (website hidden): Language skills: can get by with my high school/university French; I do try to learn "Hello, how are you, thanks,"etc., in almost ALL languages for use in my travels, and for interacting with Juneau's international visitors.
Life Motto: "Je ne regrette rien."....
