I recently left my job as a voice therapist after 15 years of clinical practice, the last seven of which were at the UCSF Medical Center in San Francisco. Although I loved my work, I couldn't shake the feeling that there must be something MORE that I am meant to be doing in the world. After several years of struggling to figure out "what's next," I finally managed to save a little bit of money, sell my car and all of my possessions, and leave the U.S. in search of a new perspective. Over the past 8 months, I stayed with my brother in Dubai for a few months, spent a month in Cairo, then traveled to Bali, Java, Stockholm, drove across Norway, then spent a week in Berlin. I am now back in the States and figuring out what's next. Airbnb has been a wonderful discovery on my travels, particularly when traveling alone to unfamiliar places. I've met some wonderful hosts and I love the convenience and accessibility of it.
