The reservation was canceled the day before arrival. This is an automated posting.
The apartment was eactly like in the pictures and description, wel kept and clean. It is part of a complex so we had a reception service in the morning that also met us when we arrived late at night. They also helped us with transfer and car hire whilst we were there. Nike was absolutely amazing and gave us so many recommendations we didnt have a bad meal or experience in our time in Santorini!! We will definitely be back.
It was ok to stay there.
The apartment is a little bit smaller than it looks like on the pictures.
Wifi works but is very slow.
There is no electrical socket for a shaver or anything like that in the bathroom.
Funny thing: toilette is inside the shower.
The view is beautiful.
This villa has amazing view of the sea and caldera - it faces Megaclori & Fira. It has two bedrooms, a kitchen with a single induction hob, a portable grill, microwave, small fridge and freezer, a small TV and DVD player. There is no washing machine and dryer at the villa but Nike the host would be more than glad to do the laundry for you at a small fee of 8€.
Please note the kitchen facility is for simple dishes only. Actually, why cook when you can sample delicious local dishes? Nike has amazing local knowledge and she will point you to all the must try and must see hot spots. My favourite is the gyros, souvlaki, roast place in Emborio. Get a takeaway chook along with some Santorini yellow donkey beers and you will have the perfect feast!
One thing I highly recommend is to bring a laptop so you can stream some TV shows or movies for winding down after the sunset or when the weather is not great during the day. There are thousands of channels available on the TV but it is small and only BBC news channel is available for those English speaking.
What I love about Akrotiri is that it isolated from the major tourist attractions in Fira & Oia. There is no traffic and no other tourists! Having said that it is only a short drive to Fira and Oia by car. I highly recommend renting a car - Nike can help you organise this. Please refrain from the cheap temptation of ATVs (100cc quad bikes). They are annoyingly slow and if it rains or is windy then you're screwed!
We hope to come back again one day! Efharisto poli, Nike! You are the best and friendliest hotelier!
Nike checked us in and was so kind, friendly and helpful. She gave us great recommendations for places to eat and things to do during our stay in Santorini. The room was beautiful and very clean, away from town centre, but perfect and quiet. (We recommend renting a car or ATV to get around to all great areas on the island, like we did.) Like a stay in paradise! Thank you!
Nike was great, she showed us to the apartment, which was clean and comfortable. She gave us some brilliant advice and recommendations on what to do, where to eat (she knows some fantastic tavernas and restaurants that shouldn't be missed, especially if you like seafood!).
Akotiri is a bit out of the way and you definitely need to rent a car, to see the island, but this would be the case wherever you stay.
If you are intending to do and serious cooking it's worth noting that there is only a single induction hob and a microwave so you need to be a little inventive.
I would recommend staying here, it has everything you need and Nike has the Santorini inside knowledge.
We had really good time at Aura Marina. The apartment was lovely, with private terrace and pool. It was quite and peaceful. We enjoyed it so much!
On top of that, our guest Nike was so nice and helpful! All her advices for restaurants, bars, beaches were really great.
The view from the apartment is gorgeous: you can see the sea from everywhere and a great part of the island and the small islands in-between.
The apartment size is quite convenient, with two terraces, and enables one to feel at home and to relax, with all due appliances.
Nike has been extremely helpful and competent : she even brought me traditional food as I arrived on an Easter Sunday, a day where traditionally almost everything is closed in Greece. Most of all, Nike has a very cultural approach to the country and its rich past, and that is very important to make the experience more valuable.
Very very very fantastic experience here，Nick is reeeeeally helpful and nice！I'll take ur advice to learn how to drive in summer :)
Nice place clean and all that just way away from the classic Santorini area despite what you see in the photos.
