We really enjoyed staying in Katharina's apartment in Prenzlauer Berg. The apartment is extremely spacious and the bed was very comfy!
As some of the other reviewers have noted below, the building is currently undergoing a facelift. However, except for the scaffolding out front and a bit of a dusty hall, we did not notice this at all. The apartment was incredibly quiet. We were surprised as it is on a major street!
I would definitely recommend Katharina's place to others. It suited our needs perfectly. Thanks Katharina!
We had a great time in Berlin, although the building work at the property is a bit unsightly, we weren't disturbed by noise and it wasn't too much of a problem. The building will be magnificent when it's finished! The location of this property is great for the restaurants and bars on Kollwitzstraße and has good public transport links too.
Great location, close to Koellwitzerplats with tons of cafes and bars, ideal to have a great and relaxed time. Public transport in front of the door (but main attractions such as Hakesche Hoefe, Alexanderplatz, Checkpoint Charlie, Brandenburger Tor can also be reached on foot). Check in and out went very smoothly, communication fast and uncomplicated!
We've been staying a long weekend at Katharinas place. It is located on a big road with a cable car. We chose the location since we love Mitte and Prenzlauer Berg and you are within walkdistance to great cafes, restaurants etc. Unfortunatley there is a huge construction going on and the whole facade, inner backyard and staircase are being refurbished. This leads to a lot of dust in the whole apartment and scaffolding outside the balcony and windows so you can't use the balcony or look outside.
Please see my other feedback.
Katharina was nice, flexible, very supportive and helpful. The flat is great as in the announce. Unfortunately the scaffolding and the work undergoing on the building facade makes the flat full of dust. A problem it will not last for long.
We stayed a full month in Katharina's apartment in the heart of Prenzlauer Berg. The place is great and the location is perfect right in the middle of an area with nice shops and restaurant.
We had some minor hick ups concerning the internet connection and power supply in the bathroom but Katharina took immediate care. There is some construction work going around the house but apart from a little noise one morning and a messy hallway this wasn't any problem. So this place is definitely worth renting a short or long while!
This is a really cool flat in a really great location! As others mentioned it's not for neat-freaks but for us the charm of the place more than made up for it. The construction in the building (and in the flat next door) was not unreasonably loud; the balcony was unusable due to the construction but that was also not a big deal. Katharina was responsive when I needed help with the WiFi and we had no other issues. I would definitely recommend this flat if you are a bit artsy yourself and want to stay in Prenzlauer Berg.
Also, for great cafés close by you can head either towards Kollwitzplatz (super-gentrified) or towards Helmholtzplatz (gentrifying now, still funky), or of course walk up to Eberswalder Str. and so on. Very good location for getting around the city.
Enjoyed staying in this apartment. Katharina was a super communicative host and made sure everything went smoothly. The internet is fast and reliable and everything you could need is provided in the apartment. The location is very convenient for walking to local eating and shopping. You can also transfer to any train or bus by the M2/M10 trams right outside to pretty much anywhere in Berlin.
Superb apartment, served the exact purpose we needed which was to have a base for our stay. Beautifully kept, clean and quirky, a delightful place. Perfect for getting into the centre and a good amount of things to do locally too. Highly recommended for those who wish to explore Berlin. Katharina is the perfect host and was fantastic in giving us advice and tips for our stay.
Katharina and her husband were great guest, they left the apt clean as they found it
Katharina and Dirk were wonderful guests. We enjoyed hosting them and they took good care of the casita.
Katharina and her family are AMAZING guests. They are welcome back any time! Such fun, easy-going adventuresome folks with the the most-well behaved child you could very ask for! We enjoyed hanging out with them at home and we're equally thrilled when we ran into them at an outdoor concert they attended on their own. They fit right in with our group of friends and didn't miss a beat!
Katharina, her husband and young baby were wonderful guests. They were here during difficult weather, extremely hot and then golfball hail. They managed all of it well. I would welcome their return any time.
Katharina and her husband Dirk are wonderful guests. They are very polite, quiet, clean, and organized. We really enjoyed their stay and the conversation with them. I hope they have a wonderful trip visiting the South part of the USA. Highly recommend them to any airbnb hosts!
Katharina & her family (husband & baby boy) were excellent guests. I was there second stop on a 2 month tour of the US from Germany. They were lovely people, communication was prompt, as guests they were quiet & self-sufficient, and they left the room very clean. I would be happy to host them again.
May in New Orleans has its quirks (termite swarms, Palmetto bugs and so on), and Katharina & her husband Dirk acclimated well to our local ups and downs. They left the place clean and as they found it - clearly they've been hosts and empathize. We'd be happy to have them again.
Katharina stayed in our apt in Andorra for 2 nights. Unfortunately, I didn't have the occasion to meet them but they were good guests and left the place in good condition.
nous avons eu plaisir à recevoir katharina et dereck, ce sont des gens tres agréables
Caterina e la sua famiglia sono stati ospiti eccellenti, persone molto simpatiche e hanno lasciato la casa in ordine. Spero ritornino presto.
Katharina is one of my best friends, we've known each other since school. Although we now live in different cities, I regularly come to Berlin to visit her and get to stay at her wonderful appartment. It is a great, spacious place, beautifully decorated, very well kept and Katharina is a wonderful host. Her place is perfectly located right in the centre of the trendy Prenzlauer Berg district with lots and lots of cafes, shops, bars and art.
Katharina is one of my dearest friends and I know her for many years.
She´s easy going and flexible. Always eager to solve smaller (or bigger) problems.
And she´s also caring a lot about her apartment and thinks about how to improve her guest´s stay.
The apartment is beautiful: cozy but not overloaded, chic but not posh. I love this art piece in her dining room!
It´s only a 5 minute walk to the famous Kollwitzplatz with all this nice little shops and cafés around. There is an organic farmers market on Saturdays. Get some vegetables there, grab a bottle of wine around the corner in one of the many 24/7-Shops and enjoy your home-made dinner at the big wooden table in the dining room!
Katharina is a friend of mine and i can honestly say she is a wonderful host – helpful, reliable, warm and welcoming. She has a great apartment in the heart of trendy Prenzlauerberg, a fun and beautiful part of town – surrounded by galleries, restaurants, cafes, bars and weekend markets. The apartment is nice, comfortable and modern, but further more it is located in one of the very few houses left which are still in the traditional east berlin unrenovated style. This gave berlin its distinctive characteristic look after the wall came down and berlin became the place to be (email hidden) urban crowd. Come fast, before berlin looks again like all the other western metropoles.
I'm Katharina's sister living in the same nice neighborhood. The apartment is beautiful and luminous and I feel very comftable haning out on the couch with a cup of tea chatting with Katharina.
Nice apartment and helpful host, perfectly located in Prenzlauer Berg. Small and beautiful shops and boutiques around, only 10minutes to the centre by tram/subway.
