Nice apartment in a nice area close to Manhattan by train. Easy to park around if you travel with a car.
Very nicely decorated and comfortable.
I would easily recommend this place to a friend visiting NYC and will certainly contact Shirin again for my next trip.
I needed a place to stay close by New York and i found this perfect one bedroom apartment in Jersey city which is very close to a Path train and surrounded with services i.e. laundromat, grocery store, and plenty of resturuants. The apartment was as described and was bery clean and neat. I met the awesome Shirin in New York for the keys and she explained the area! Im glad I stayed here. It made my visit very joyful and definetaly will stay again :)
I spent three great weeks in Shirin's pleasant apartment. Shirin and Boris are great and amazing hosts. The apartment is relativ small but very confortable and clean. It's fully equipped with everything you need for a longer stay. The nearby area is very quiet and offers many shops for daily use. The building is a ten minute walk to the Grove Street PATH Station. Very practical for daily travel to NYC.
Thank you Shirin, I had a confortable home for wonderful three weeks.
Nice clean comfortable apartment, very good location. Shirin was responsive and accommodating. Definitely recommend.
This is a pleasant apartment in a great area of New Jersey with easy access to Manhatten via the Path train at Grove Street.
We had a fantastic holiday, arriving Christmas Day, and Shirin & Boris were extremely helpful in arranging to get us the keys.
The apartment is compact but has everything you need. We will definitely be returning!
Shirin and Boris are wonderful hosts. I met with them in New York City to get the keys. From that point on, they made me feel welcome. They even invited me to their Thanksgiving dinner! The accommodations are clean and the bedroom is large with enough storage for my two weeks there.
The building is a ten minute walk to the Grove Street PATH Station. The apartment is on the second floor. The outside of the building is not very attractive, but don't get turned off by the looks of the staircase or facade. Inside is quaintly, tastefully, and simply decorated with plenty of natural light.
So, subtract one star for the outside aesthetics and you've found a nice place to stay, with good people worthy of "five stars". I recommend.
I had a great stay in Shirin's appartment with my husband. Shirin and her boyfriend are very kind people. The bedroom is quite confortable. The appartment is not very far from N.Y., you can take a PATH and it takes only a few minutes to arriver to lower Mahattan. There're many affortable restaurants with delieux food in the area, we had very good diner every night.
Shirin was such an amazing and respectful host. Such a fun person to be around, she really made sure that I was comfortable the entire time. Was working in Soho, and Jersey city was an easier commute than living in Manhattan. 3 stops on the PATH and you're right there. Lots of small restaurants in the area and spent way less than I would have if I was living in the city. Would recommend her place to anyone who is working on the west side or lower manhattan and needs a short, cost efficient, convenient stay with a good-hearted person.
4 friends visiting NYC who stayed at Shirin's Jersey City apartment for 5 nights at the end of August. Shirin was very accommodating in terms of check in and check out times. She met us on the first day at the apartment and gave us a few nearby restaurant/bar suggestions.
Apartment: Joint dining area/kitchen, living room with TV, bedroom and bathroom. 2 of us slept in the bedroom (queen size bed), 2 in the living room (1 on the pullout couch and 1 on a small mattress on the floor). The place is cozy and moderately clean. Very hot at this time of year so the air conditioning in the living/bedroom and ceiling fans helped. Bathroom fairly clean, low shower water pressure. Wireless internet worked well. Only one set of keys between the 4 of us which sometimes proved tricky but worked out ok.
Nearby: Rustique Pizza does really nice pizza/italian food and is BYOB with no corkage fee. Also a grocery store 5 min away.
Directions: Very easy to get to and from NYC - 10 min walk to the Grove street PATH station (There is a Dunkin Donuts and McDonald's here). From there 15 min on PATH to 33rd street station (midtown Manhattan). $2.25 each fare. Get out at this stop and walk 3 min to 34th street station to go uptown. Alternatively you can walk north from 33rd street to 42nd (Times Square) which takes about 20 min. Can take trains up to 79th street which is central park. PATH runs through the night so no worry about getting back late.
From PATH you can also take trains to World Trade Center site (15 min away) which is next to the waterfront (Bodies exhibition)
Newark airport: 90 min away by public transit. PATH: Grove street to Journal Square, change there (across the platform) to a Newark train going to Newark (Penn) Station. Here buy a NJ transit train ticket ($8.50) going to the Newark Airport Train Station. This ticket includes the Airtrain ticket so hold onto it. At the Airport Train Station transfer to a Newark Airport Airtrain to your terminal. Total cost about $11.
Overall: Shirin was very helpful and the place was great for the price. Very convenient with some nice restaurants/bars nearby. Very easy to get into NYC. Would definitely recommend this apartment to future visitors of Jersey City and NYC.
Shirin was very nice and left my place in good shape!
Shirin and Boris was nice guest. We shared pleasant time together. You can host or surf them blindly. I felt comfortable with both of them. I wish you to have the chance to meet Shirin and Boris. You are welcome back at any time :)
Shirin and her friends were such a wonderful guests! I sincerely recommend them to any host around this planet. Thank you!
Boris is the boyfriend of Shirin and was a guest in my house. Was a guest delicate, neat and sweet. On the morning of his departure we had take breakfast chatted about Rome. Boris had walked in the night, ate pizza, visited Piazza Navona, the Phantheon, and Campo dei Fiori. He liked Roma atmosphere a lot, and was happy to be here. With me was very kind and I hope to come back soon to see me. With him you can talk about any subject: politic in USA, work and feelings. It's the ideal guest because he is a sensitive guy. I recommend it to everyone.
