The bed was clean, super comfy and the bedroom spacious. We were surprised to find ample street parking. The neighborhood seemed safe. Abigail was professional and courteous. The shower is small and the space can be awkward if you are a luxury hotel kind of person but even then, you are in New York so good luck with that. Good L-train access but a bit remote if you like to make quick pit stops during your city excursions. The traffic noise put us to sleep. We had a positive stay and would do it again. Thanks Abigail!
Really liked our stay!! The room is very big and clean. I liked the two big windows in the room, very bright. And all the mirrors and globes! We didn't saw Abigail that much, but it was okay for us. It felt like we had our own apartment in Brooklyn.
You have to walk trough her room every time, but that was okay. If you want a lot of privacy and luxury this is not your place to stay. But for us (me and my mom) it was great!! Showering in the kitchen was not a problem at all.
The whole apartment is really nice!
Amazing space. Abigail was a great host. There was no disturbance at all. Had a very pleasant stay and it was fun having a quick chat with her as well about her New York story. :)
Abigail welcomed us friendly into her home. The apartment is pretty unique, as described by her, you have to cross her room, to get to the guestroom and the kitchen doubles as bathroom.
The guestroom has a nice size, the windows are very thin though unfortunately, and the street really is very very loud. So nothing for soft sleepers.
We stayed at Abigails place for five nights in Brooklyn (Bushwick area). She was around, but we didn't talk to her much. To bad, bacause it would be nice to get some tips from a local. The private room is nice and cozy. Although there is a lot of street noise. So sleeping with earplugs is a must. The shower, located at the other side of the house, is very small. The kitchen is also small and was not very clean. Overall we we're happy to stay here for a few days, but it did feel a bit like a student home.
Abigail is a lovely host and was perfect for our visit in Brooklyn/Williamsburg and NYC. Her apartmet was very easy to find and her communication was uncomplicated. She's very friendly and uncomplicated. Her place is perfectly located in East Williamsburg. The large room was very clean and equipped with fresh towels. We really enjoyed the days in Brooklyn and NYC and would definitely recommend her host.
Many thanks for welcoming us Abigail!
Abigail was a great host, she was very responsive to questions and my messages. The neighbourhood was great, central and close to everything. The bed was super comfortable!
My girlfriend and I had a great stay at Abigail's apartment. She was a very friendly and accommodating host, although we didn't see much of her as she worked during the day and we were out and about from morning until late at night. We even accidentally left an item behind when we left, but Abigail has been kind enough to be willing to mail it back to us. The apartment was nice and had everything we needed, the room was big and bright with clean sheets and towels provided, also the bed is super comfortable! As described there is some street noise that can be loud when trucks pass by, but the sounds can be drowned out with a fan or earplugs. It was fine for me but my girlfriend used earplugs and it wasn't a problem.
The neighbourhood is great, a short walk to the closest station for the L train for a 15-20 min ride to Manhattan, and Williamsburg has plenty of hip coffee shops and brunch places to check out. We had a great stay and recommend this place to anyone visiting New York but doesn't want to stay in the heart of Manhattan, theres so much more to NYC than Manhattan alone!
Abigail was a nice host. The apartment was clean and a had a good price/value ratio. apartment is close to public transport, which takes you in 15 minutes to downtown.
Abigail is a lovely host. Her communication was prompt and made it easy to access the apartment when she wasn't there. She's very friendly, polite and accommodating.
The place is indeed very eclectic & classic as described. Her place is perfectly located in East Williamsburg which is only a few short blocks away from any of the main action and easy access to the L. The room was very clean with lots of room and equipped with fresh towels. The bed is super comfortable. Only letdown was that the kitchen & common area was not as clean as in the photos and description. Also the old-style heater made some weird noises on my last night.
Overall, the place is nice & simple - perfect for anyone looking to stay in a cool part of Brooklyn!
I highly recommend Abigail to all Airbnbers as she truly embodies the Airbnb ethos: friendly, adventurous, relaxed, and open-minded. Abigail is well-traveled and busy with her rich, wonderful ever-evolving life of comedy, writing, story-telling and serving as confidante, entertainer and guru to her good friend (me). She balances all these roles with an innate sense of boundaries, is social but never intrusive and possesses a sense of humor that all who know her find engaging and charming.
First of all, Abigail is very gracious, easy going and delightful. She would make a wonderful hostess. Secondly, the location of her apartment is fantastic. It's in a funky part of Williamsburg, so close to bars, restaurants, galleries and produce markets. The room is huge, with high ceilings and very clean. I think it's a good deal for the price. I can definitely recommend staying here because I've known Abigail for many years and have even lived with her in this apartment.
