Abigail is a lovely host. Her communication was prompt and made it easy to access the apartment when she wasn't there. She's very friendly, polite and accommodating.
The place is indeed very eclectic & classic as described. Her place is perfectly located in East Williamsburg which is only a few short blocks away from any of the main action and easy access to the L. The room was very clean with lots of room and equipped with fresh towels. The bed is super comfortable. Only letdown was that the kitchen & common area was not as clean as in the photos and description. Also the old-style heater made some weird noises on my last night.
Overall, the place is nice & simple - perfect for anyone looking to stay in a cool part of Brooklyn!
Our stay at Abigail's was perfect for our weekend in NYC. Her place was exactly as described, so no surprises there. It's an old but cosy house near an extremely loud and busy road. Abigail left the keys at the deli for us and trusted us. Fresh sheets and towels, clean room. There is a great bagel place across the subway entrance that you definitely need to try out for breakfast. Thanks for welcoming us Abigail!
Thank you for staying Barbara!
It was a pleasant stay, very simple and like how its described. We did expect it to be like how it was on the pictures, but things were changed in the house and were more dilapidated than expected. It also smelt like dead mice, something was rotten somewhere.. The kitchen wasnt the cleanest kitchen and the shower wasnt either. Its fine, simple for a short stay.
Although Abigail was in the house, we didn't really see her. Walking through her room to go to the bathroom or shower is perfectly fine.
The room is Nice, its big and you have a lot of space for your stuff. The noise is fine from the street but if you are not used to it Bring earplugs.
The neigherbood is perfect! There are bagel stores, deli's and the subway is 8 min away, which leads you to the L train going downtown.
Overall, its a fine, simple stay. The room is very good, the location is perfect and the house is duable.
Abigail was a very friendly and respectful host, giving us our space while we stayed with her. Everything in the apartment is in quite close quarters so this was important. The East Williamsburg neighbourhood is so lovely and eclectic. Some of our favourite spots to visit were on Lorimer street, only about a 5 minute walk from Abigail's place. There's some cute cafes with great coffee and a wonderful cheese and cured meats shop.
The only thing I would warn about is that the bathroom is part of the kitchen so there's not much shower privacy as there's no door and just a sheet to separate the shower from the kitchen area. I have to admit this was a bit awkward for us as we didn't know this ahead of time. The toilet does however have a closet size space with a door. I just feel this should be noted in case you don't realize before your stay.
All in all our stay was great, safe and clean.
Nice stay at Abigail's. The bed was SO comfortable and the room was pretty big which was good.
You have to walk past Abigail's open plan bedroom to get to the shower which at first sounded like it would be awkward but wasn't at all.
Abigail's very friendly and happy to give you advice and just general chit chat. Thanks!
Abigail was a very nice host, although I didn't see her that much. The apartment was small and cozy. One disadvantage was the noise of the traffic, but Abigail warns about that in her profile. I really don’t have any complaints about her or the apartment. Also the neighborhood was very nice. When I first walked in the street I already met a guy who live there.
So, except if you are really sensitive for traffic noise, I would recommend Abigail’s apartment to everyone who wants to have a nice stay in Brooklyn.
Abigail was a great host for my 4 day stay. The room is spacious and private. There's plenty of stores and restaurants on the way to the near by subway. Would definitely recommend to others.
I highly recommend Abigail to all Airbnbers as she truly embodies the Airbnb ethos: friendly, adventurous, relaxed, and open-minded. Abigail is well-traveled and busy with her rich, wonderful ever-evolving life of comedy, writing, story-telling and serving as confidante, entertainer and guru to her good friend (me). She balances all these roles with an innate sense of boundaries, is social but never intrusive and possesses a sense of humor that all who know her find engaging and charming.
First of all, Abigail is very gracious, easy going and delightful. She would make a wonderful hostess. Secondly, the location of her apartment is fantastic. It's in a funky part of Williamsburg, so close to bars, restaurants, galleries and produce markets. The room is huge, with high ceilings and very clean. I think it's a good deal for the price. I can definitely recommend staying here because I've known Abigail for many years and have even lived with her in this apartment.
