Sometimes I make art, sometimes I make a mess. Love the water and it is always on my mind when thinking of travel.
Very convenient location. Easy walking distance to Downtown. Tidy and attractive 1920s home, thoughtfully updated with modern amenities. Host's own unique art adds a great touch. Nice eateries in the neighborhood.
Michael and Lee were great and very welcoming. They had snacks and beer/wine when we got there, which was a nice treat after a long day flying. The bedroom is perfect size for 2 guests. Don't let the shared bathroom deter you in any way, as there was never an issue of worrying about someone rushing you to get in or out. There was a delicious restaurant next door that was also great for any items you may have forgotten to pack, as it doubles as a convenience store. There is plenty to do within walking distance and the main downtown areas were only a $5-10 ride if you didn't feel like walking.
Michael and Lee were open, friendly, laid back and I was comfortable right away. Their home was spotless and furnished simply but tastefully. I loved Sprinkles and her guest, Rocky; great dogs. Location was very close to numerous friendly bars, restaurants and good coffee places. Plus, Michael made excellent coffee each morning. He was enormously helpful with his knowledge of Austin and places to visit.
The house is very near a major street so there was sporadic, minor street noise. Nothing that kept me or woke me up. Very comfortable bed. The small house and shared bath may not suit everyone.
Overall, I had a very good stay and would definitely consider returning.
I absolutely love this charming bungalow! The house is spotlessly clean, the bed is extremely comfortable and michael is a welcoming and friendly host. There is a lovely garden area for sipping coffee in the mornings or enjoying a glass of wine in the evening,. The property is within walking distance to several cool eateries and bars and the lake for kayaking or paddle boarding. Hands down my favorite Airbnb yet!
Michael, Lee and Sprinkles were great hosts! They made us feel welcomed from the minute we walked in and they gave great recommendations to local parks, bars and restaurants. The location was close to downtown, surrounded by greenery and cute bungalows, and had easy parking. Overall, the couple and their dog were very accommodating and easygoing. Thanks for a great trip!
Michael made me feel very welcome, and had plenty of information on where to find fun stuff to do, and good places for food & drinks! His company was exceptional, and I would recommend a stay with him for any friends looking for a warm & inviting AirBnb stay!!
Michael, Lee and their pup are wonderful hosts. Their place is fantastic and so close to everything you want to do in Austin. You're within walking distance of tons of great bars and restaurants and easy biking or cheap cab distance from downtown, Rainey Street and South Congress. This is a great opportunity to have the Austin experience that prompts more than 150 people to move there everyday. I couldn't have asked for better hosts.
Michael and Lee were so welcoming and accommodating! We had beers and wine waiting on us after a long drive from Alabama and fun indie music playing in the background of their beautifully decorated home! Our room was clean and quite roomie for my friend and I and my small beagle pup. We loved the very Austin-esk art throughout the home which were mostly all personally done pieces by Michael himself and I was thankful that Sprinkles was super sweet and friendly to Elsa who is often scared of her own shadow.. We walked down to get dinner and drinks at some fun places and took a bike taxi back and had a blast! When we had to get up and on the road for an early morning start we had a freshly brewed pot of coffee and muffins waiting on us before we left and let's be honest I don't even get that at Mama's house! Will definitely be visiting these guys again and would highly recommend staying at this artsy Austin home!
Michael and Lee (and Sprinkles) are great hosts - and their home is amazing. They are very welcoming, and keep with the Bed and Breakfast philosophy in how they treat guests. The living/common area is decorated with original art, and they had my kinda music playing when I got there. The guest room was spacious, with convenient storage for my bags/luggage, they put out fresh towels/toiletries, and the guest bed was super comfortable. I didn't feel awkward or out of place at all - and they were kind enough to offer a beer (or two) to me after a long painful travel day. When I had to head out the next morning, I found that they had made some coffee and had fruit and muffins out for me, which was awesome. Michael went out of his way to make sure I got situated in Austin for the rest of my trip. Thanks for your hospitality guys!
Micheal, Lee, and Sprinkles were great hosts! Their humble abode is within walking distance to some great places on E. Ceaser Chavez, and not that much farther from E. 6th St and other fun austin spots.
The room was perfect, and they provided great hospitality, including coffee in the mornings. I recommend this spot to any Austin traveler!
