Kylliki was very quick to respond to my booking request - and equally helpful via texts during my stay! Dina, the guardienne, was on hand to let me in and to offer help with anything I needed.
This location is really delightful - in an old building entered through a charming plant-lined courtyard. The rooms have lovely exposed brickwork and old beams which add so much character!
I have stayed in many places in Paris - but this was the quietest room I have ever found - even with the window wide open all night it was so calm and restful.
The area has many nice restaurants - and the lively Rue Mouffetard is a great place for a morning coffee, a lingering lunch - or a romantic dinner!
This location would really suit a couple (of any age) - or a single person looking for somewhere slightly apart from the bustling tourist areas.
For anyone wanting to explore Paris this location is a good base - I like walking and it only takes 20 mins via interesting backstreets to reach the Sorbonne and the wonderful Musee de Cluny - my favourite museum in Paris! Another 10 mins and you reach Notre Dame. It is also very handy for those who prefer to take the Metro.
I will certainly look forward to staying here again!
Good location of the apartment, an attractive design, responsive mistress, but not a comfortable sofa
Great apartment (clean, plenty of space and amenities) in a nice part of Paris, close to the Jardin du Luxembourg and other local attractions. Communication with Kylliki was perfect - she was very helpful and made it easy to accommodate our travel schedule. Thanks for a very comfortable stay!
We enjoyed staying here, however, the kitchen was very small. For a couple that enjoys most meals at "home" this is not the best place to stay. There really isn't room for cooking. The location is great though and the host, very accessible ! If you will eat most meals out and like a very central location this is great place.
Kylliki is so sweet and warm hearted that you directly feel home.
She is very attentionate.
She knows very well her neighborhood and gives you all the information you might need.
The studio is lovely, was very clean, it recieves a beautiful natural light.
The neighborhood is charming. I would recommend 100%.
I had a great 2-night stay at Kylliki's apartment! I did not get to meet Kylliki but she provided clear instructions on how to obtain the apartment keys from the gardienne lady. The check-out process was fuss-free too.
The apartment is located in a safe and quiet neighbourhood that is within walking distance (5min) to a metro station (Censier-Daubenton metro station). There were many cafes, restaurants, bakeries, supermarkets as well as a pharmacy near the apartment. For those who will be travelling from Paris CDG airport to the apartment via the RER line B, the nearest RER station is Luxembourg which is 15-20min walk away from the apartment. The apartment is located on the third floor and is accessible by a spiral staircase.
Apartment - Cleanliness and Amenities:
The apartment was just as advertised, if not better! Everything in the cosy studio apartment was clean and the double sofa bed was really comfortable as well. The kitchenette was well-equipped with multiple sets of utensils, coffee maker, toaster, kettle, refrigerator, etc. The shower area may be slightly small for taller individuals but other than that the bathroom was perfect - there was a washing machine in the bathroom (not mentioned in the apartment description) too.
Kylliki also kindly compiled a folder with recommendations on Paris attractions and restaurants. My friend and I really loved the food at Cave La Bourgogne which was a stone's throw away from the apartment :)
The single downside of our stay was that the wifi only worked after 12am each night and the connection was not very stable either. Kylliki mentioned that she will be ordering a new modem from a different company so hopefully the internet access would not be a problem in the future.
The studio was a perfect location for my stay during a conference at the Sorbonne Nouvelle. The area was full of shops and restaurants and felt safe and friendly. A nice walk up Rue Monge toward St. Michel and near the Jardin des Plantes and the foodie Rue Moufftard. The studio had everything I needed, the perfect 'room of one's own' for my stay. Very clear directions in arriving and getting in. I would happily go back and stay there!
Kylliki was very attentive, responding to mails and calls prior and during the stay to make sure that everything was fine. I booked the appartment with very short notice and she tried to accomodate everything to my needs.
I didn't actually meet the host but she was very quick to respond to all my messages, explained everything very well and put me in touch with the lovely guardian who lives in the apartment block. The guardian was very kind, helpful and attentive.
The apartment was small and cosy and well equipped. It was very well positioned in a safe, private courtyard which was very peaceful and quiet in the evening. In spite of all this, I didn't sleep very well at all during my stay. I found the bed quite bumpy and uncomfortable and the pillows quite old and not very comfortable. I was also bitten very badly by insects during my stay which didn't help my bad night's sleep. I'm not sure if it was mosquitoes or some other bug because the bed is quite old...
Other than this, the Internet did not work at all during my stay which made life quite difficult as my phone had been stolen when I arrived in Paris. Thankfully the guardian very kindly lent me an old mobile phone to use as an alarm clock which was helpful.
If I would suggest improvements it would be that a new matress and pillows are imperative and to either state on the advert that the Internet does not work or to to buy a proper Internet connection, as the free wifi is obviously not strong enough.
Overall I liked the apartment and felt safe and well attended to, but I would say that the price is rather high considering the state of the bed and the lack of Internet.
I was not home when my guests were at the house, but was told that except for a couple of housekeeping glitches that were attended to initially, everything went smoothly. I hope they had a good time over the holiday. I was told that they were all smiling when the taxi came to take them back to town!
Kylliki rented our apartment for some colleagues and they were very nice and respectful. I would not hesitate to rent to them or their colleagues again!
Kylliki and her wonderful family were a delight to have as guests. They were such friendly and respectful people with a positive and wonderful attitude at all times. Some might hesitate hosting a family with a baby in their apartment, but this little angel is the easiest, quietest and smartest little girl that always finds a simple way of entertaining herself without any disturbance to anybody. I am so happy to have met and hosted Kylliki, her husband Pavel, her sweet mother-in-law and her little angel. They are welcome to stay at my apartment whenever they like.
