I am the Owner/Publisher of Workwomans Press, in Seattle. Alan Singer is a retired research scientist at the University of Washington. We both lived in the Bay Area for many years. We are in our young seventies, active hikers, walkers, and language students. Over the past fifteen years we have traveled to and/or lived in southern France, Argentina, Chile, Ecuador , Belize, Guatemala, Ireland, the Orkney Islands, Apuglia, Ahrenshoop, Alaska, and Paris. I love to rent lodgings with a kitchen so I can visit the local markets and cook.
Since Airbnb asks, my favorite movies are Broadway Danny Rose (Woody Allen), The Betrayal (Harold Pinter), and Nueve Reinas (director Fabián Bielinsky); favorite books, anything by Roberto Bolaño, Anton Chekov, David Gates, Alice Munro, or Susan Sherrell; favorite music Padam Padam (Portland), Jaime Leopold (also Portland), Kronos string quartet, Cesarea Evora, also Julio Jaramillo and Mercedes Sosa. Food? I'm an omnivore, although I draw the line at snails even when called escargot.
