Wonderful place. Next time I am in NYC, I plan on returning.
My stay in Esther's loft was very nice overall. The location is a good launching point for NYC with the Prospect St. R station just three blocks away, which will take you up into Manhattan, or down further into Brooklyn. The apartment is on the 4th floor with no elevator, which may be a concern for some. The neighborhood seems safe and quiet.
The suite is definitely the way to go. It's a huge room in the front of the building with large windows overlooking the street.
There were a few billing issues between myself, Airbnb, and Esther, but I'm sure it was a fluke. Again, overall great experience.
The room was stiffling hot because there was no air conditioner, although she did provide a fan for me. There is a lot of rules of what to use versus not use in the kitchen in terms of utensils, pot and stove depending on whether or not you are a vegetarian. If you are not a vegetarian, you can not use the main stove only the toaster oven. There was not no microwave. Overall, Esther is a pleasant girl and easy to get along with.
We needed a quick place to stay this past weekend because we had no running water at our apartment :( We posted at 3pm and Sara K replied to us at around 4pm, so we were very grateful for the quick response.
The room was large though completely unfurnished except for bed, and there was wireless internet as promised. The bathroom is shared and there are roommates so there is not total privacy but roommates were very independent...one thing was that it was a bit pricey compared to other rooms I've stayed in. Also listed as in Park Slope, but more in South Slope/border of Sunset Park. Overall, OK experience for price.
Great stay! easy going, no hassles. She has a great new place, will look to stay again on my next visit to NYC!!
