I loved Mariano's apartment, it was so clean and spacious. big terrace as well and good location - 5 minues from tram that will take you to Rome's centre for only 1,50 euro and 5 mins from train station - trains go to Vatican for 1 euro and there is direct train to Fiumicino airport from this train station. Mariano was so cool and relaxed about everything that we felt like in our own house. Definetely highly recommended ! would stay there again.
First we had some difficulties getting in contact because it was so last minute (I was on the standby list) and I didn't have his phonenumber yet. Once we reached him, we met him at the trainstation and he walked home with us. The location is good, it was quiet and Mariano is a very friendly guy. Mariano told us how and where to go. We stayed for one night. I felt at home @ Mariano's!
Beautiful Roma! We saw 4 great exibition: Homo Sapiens, soviet painture, indian artists at Maxxi and The Great McCurry at Macro. Good experience even because it was a lot of time that I didn't come back in Rome. We find weel the house of Mariano but I could suggest to give a look to (website hidden) view before just to understand the street better :)
Mariano was a lovely host. His apartment was easy to find (practically all right turns from the station) and it was in a convenient location to the tram, which we used often. The apartment was very spacious and the kitchen was also very easy to maneuver around in. The bedroom was very cold at night but he layered blankets on the bed so we thankfully did not freeze in our sleep. All I would make a disclaimer about is that he smokes in the living room (the smell did not trail into our bedroom) but the smell can be a bit off-putting when you first walk into the apartment.
I found Mariano's place very clean and comfortable. In fact I had my best night's sleep there compared to any of the Airbnb locations where I have stayed. The most important though is location. It is tricky getting from the station to the apartment building the first time but once this is mastered, the connections from Stazione Trastevere are very convenient, whatever the destination. Fiumicino, Termini, Ostiense and Largo Argentina (tram) are the obvious ones. For those who may want to know, the train in the direction of Viterbo or Civitavecchia also stops conveniently for the Vatican at San Pietro and it connects to the metropolitana at the station Valle Aurelia. All is included in the same ticket for one (1) euro.
Nice guy, spacious room and apartment. The location is just fine and easy: walk right from Trastevere station go down the steps turn right go through one tunnel then turn right pass a police station and then turn right again through the second tunnel to via farnelli which is one way (against you if walking) to his place.
