Great experience!!! Federica is a great host and the place is the one we were looking for. This farm is very well located in the middle to the chianti region and close to all the Tuscany hill towns. We had an amazing time there.
hope to see you again, all the best for your big family!
I put some more lights in the kitchen as you advised, grazie Loli!!
Our week long stay with Federica was truly wonderful. It was everything we had hoped for. Federica was such a lovely host, she went out of her way to make us feel at home in every way. Her farm is stunning and she clearly believes in the organic way if life, it's great to see. The apartment was spacious and well appointed and very comfortable. There is nothing we would change about our stay.
For some travellers who 'must' have creature comforts like wifi and TV, this place may not appeal to you, however; if you want somewhere to take it slow, relax and unwind in beautiful surrounds then you should stay here. Thank you Federica! :-)
so happy to read such sweet words!! Ercolina will miss you but your dog will be so happy to see you again Tom.. Buon viaggio!!
We had a wonderful time staying at the beautiful unique and special apartment of Federica. You can feel how Federica designed the place with much love and attention for every thing! The result is beautiful! And you feel like home :) also amazing nature around with butterflies and birds:) thank you very much !!
all the best to you always!!
Federica is a warm and welcoming host, and her farmhouse is absolutely adorable. The pictures on this sight are an accurate representation of what you'll find when you arrive. There is a lovely area to sit outside and look over a ridge of olive trees and grape vines while we relaxed from our whirlwind tour of Rome. One our most delightful lunches of our two week trip around Italy involved bread, cheese, olives and wine while sitting at the kitchen table.
This is an old farmhouse, so it is rustic. If you don't like bugs or have allergies, you might be more comfortable elsewhere. Also, the driveway to the house is very steep and rocky. I'm sure you can make it just fine in a small car, but I was glad that we ended up with a more substantial vehicle than we originally reserved.
Thank you for a lovely stay in Chianti, Federica!
We spent four nights here and could have stayed for way longer. The apartment and garden was beautiful. Federica was a brilliant host, so friendly and welcoming, she sourced us local wine and her own olive oil grown there. Everything about the house was beautiful.
Check out where exacty you have to go, because otherwise its kind of hard to find it in the tuscan hills ;-) It's a tuscan farm-house of the 18th century which was renovated a few years ago. The appartment is decorated very lovely with nice old furniture. The kitchen works with gas and is good stuffed. You find everything you need. Living in the countryside in the middle of an olive-field is very nice, but also offers you all kind of bugs, millepedes, flies (Pferdebremsen) in and especially outside the house - which made it kind of hard to relax and spend our time in the beautiful garden/terrace. At night they are all gone and we enjoyed the fantastic view on the stars (you will see thousands). The Bed could be a little bigger and harder :-/ Federica is very nice and a warm and caring person. Grazie mille
as you said you can't put the blame of insects on me.. plants > bugs > nature!
We really liked this unique and rustic apartment. It had a really cool "boutique" style to it. Federica was really helpful, full of ideas and recommendations for things for us to do during our stay, which made a big difference!
I'll keep in mind your suggestions because I think you are right, grazie!
We had a truly wonderful holiday staying in Federica's apartment. Federica was a great host, very friendly and easy to chat to and she made us feel very welcome (as did Herculea, the cat!). The apartment was beautifully furnished with lots of care and attention paid to all the details and it had everything we needed. The setting was magical too - we spent time strolling through the grounds, discovering artworks and taking in the stunning views.
We wanted a holiday where we could totally get away from it all and this place was perfect. In the evenings we'd sit out on the deckchairs, looking down on the olive trees as the sun set behind the hills and, a couple of times, watching wild deer grazing among the trees in the twilight just metres away from us.
We flew into Pisa and it was an easy drive (it was our first time driving in Italy so we weren't sure what to expect). It was also very easy to visit Florence and Siena by car. Our favourite local town was Castellina in Chianti, about 7km away from the apartment. It had a few little food shops, restaurants and a fab outdoor swimming pool. NB the area is very hilly so next time we will probably upgrade our little Fiat 500 hire car to something more powerful!
We were sad to leave at the end of the week, but happy to be taking home some of Federica's fantastic organic olive oil and local wine (also bought from Federica). Would recommend a stay here to anyone who wants a peaceful break in a gorgeous and tranquil yet stylish Tuscan setting. Thanks Federica! :-)
Thank you Theresa for such a wonderful and detailed review, I love to share this with persons like you!!
