The Pudding Pad is awesome! Even more beautiful and stylish than we imagined from the photos. And the private lawn and lake access with two canoes are dreamy. You can sit on the private dock, listen to the frogs croaking, and look out on nothing but water and woods and the few other houses on the other side of the lake as the sun sets in full color. Or swim or boat and enjoy the dragonflies, swallows, snapping turtles, herons and other great wildlife. The kitchen is fully stocked (we even made our own ice cream in the ice cream maker), with everything you could need in terms of herbs and spices, coffee, tea, oil and vinegar, flour, sugar, baking pans and frying pans and pots. Awesome. There is a wonderful stone patio with a charcoal grill and a long table for a nice outdoor group meal, plus a large indoor dining table as well. Both of the bedrooms are sleek and comfy with really nice bedding, and there are two bathrooms. The ping-pong table downstairs was a big hit with our kids. And...haven't yet mentioned the AMAZING '70s & '80s record collection, which inspired us when we got home to bring our old record player out again. And a projector and comfy couch in the "screening room" for watching movies. Basquali was a wonderful host--incredibly gracious and responsive to every question, both before and while we were there. We will definitely be back!
We had such a lovely stay at the lovenest! The home is so unique with lots of lounge areas - both indoors and out. We enjoyed playing various records, cooking a nice meal, making s'mores in the fire pit - this place has something for everyone.
Our stay at the Treehouse was absolutely inspiring...and Basquali isn't kidding, you are going to hate leaving.
We spent a beautiful three days listening to records and enjoying the lush green view off the porch. Basquali sent us a complete Visitor Info pack before we even got there that let us know everything we needed about the area and the home. It was an incredibly smooth experience and he was attentive to our needs throughout the entire stay.
Our first day in the Treehouse we were already planning return trips...we can't wait to see it in the winter!
I also highly recommend visiting the monastery while you're there. It's a gorgeous sanctuary tucked away on 125 acres only ten minutes away.
Big thanks to Basquali for making it all so easy...
We had an incredible time at the treehouse lovenest. Mister Basquali was a gracious host and made sure that we had all the information that we needed for our trip, both in a beautifully-photographed and laid-out guide and in our email correspondence. The place is exactly as described -- quiet, secluded, and thoughtfully decorated. We loved making dinner, enjoying the deck, listening to records, watching movies and exploring the nearby trails and parks. We hope to return sometime soon!
Mister B was a great host. Before we got there he sent a very nice introduction packet to the treehouse. When we got to the treehouse it was so beautiful and the elevated house really made it feel like you were in the treetops. His collection of cookbooks inspired us to cook delicious meals.
The record collection was amazing and well curated.
We would definitely visit again! Thanks Mister B.
This space is so special and unique! We were in the area for a wedding and decided to stay somewhere a little different, and we're so glad we did. Basquali has great taste, love the decor! We also discovered a new love of records thanks to his extensive collection. The master bedroom space is particularly inviting. The property feels very remote and we got the full nature experience. We even watched a doe and her fawn from our window one evening. Hoping to return!
The Pudding Pad is a very nice place for a getaway weekend from New York. The location is amazing, as are the canoes and outside grilling area. The surrounding area is great for day trips to Cold Spring and Beacon and for hiking in the many surrounding parks.
Basquali is very responsive in his communications and was a pleasure to deal with.
What a magical hideaway!! And a very gracious and generous host
I had a great time at the Pudding Pad with my girlfriend and our dog. Lots of barbecuing, hanging out at the fire pit, kayaking - and, while inside, listening to records or watching something on the projector. The house is also a 20 minute drive to Beacon, so we managed to check out Dia:Beacon and cruise around town.
Beautiful cabin. Thank you for hosting us!
