I am the owner of smooch organic cafe in Brooklyn NY and I like lots of things including my wife, dogs and people who stutter.
What a fantastic getaway this treehouse was. The pictures don't do this place justice. A group of 4 of us stayed for the weekend and it was a perfect escape from the city. Even though we had dinner reservations on my birthday, we ended up cancelling them and decided to cook dinner instead because the atmosphere at this house is so relaxing and inviting. The record player and extensive selection of music was an added bonus as was the projector for watching movies at night. Would highly recommend staying here!
We had the best time at the treehouse. The 70s/retro/'Mid century decor is beautifully curated and really sets the vibe along with the amazing record collection. The location is cozy and settled in the woods but is still only a quick drive from cold spring and beacon for afternoon in town. Basquali is super thorough and and helpful. We will definitely be back!
The Pudding Pad was awesome! Incredibly easy and quick to get to from Brooklyn. Also an easy drive to charming Beacon or Cold Spring.
The house was great. Large and comfortable living spaces, excellent vinyl (and dvd) collection, a well stocked kitchen and comfy beds. The yard is huge and the lake is gorgeous. Definitely planning a summer return!
Basquali was also great on the communication front, as I needed to reach out a few times thanks to my failure to bring along the info he sent ahead of arrival.
My boyfriend and I had a wonderful stay at Pudding pad! It was exactly as charming and cozy as we expected. Basquali was a great host and was very available to make sure we had all we needed. The house was clean and very well stocked with all the amenities we needed to have a quiet couple of days upstate. The location is private but not too isolated, so it was easy to get out and see a few things nearby. I would definitely recommend staying here and I hope to stay again myself.
Great experience, lovely house and memorable stay! Thank you so much!
Our stay at the Treehouse was perfect. Mr. B was always quick to respond to any question I had before arriving. The kitchen truly had any cooking tool i would need. It was a relaxing weekend mixed with some local exploring. (Be sure to stop by the Chuang Yen Monastery 5 minutes from the house, its beautiful.) The house was clean and decorated very tastefully. We are hoping to visit again in the spring. Thanks Mr. B !
The Lovenest was everything my boyfriend and I were looking for and more. The decor and the Lovenest vibe creates a cozy environment that encourages staying home, making dinner, drinking wine and listening to old records and watching old movies all weekend long. At the same time it is really close to Cold Spring and Beacon so that you can go and explore a little. We definitely took advantage of both aspects. Basquali was a wonderful host and very responsive when we had a question. We cannot wait to stay there again for a winter wonderland experience.
We had a beautiful Halloween weekend away in the Lovenest, surrounded on all sides by the stunning Fall foliage, with beautiful lakes and deer in the forest nearby. The location is secluded but very easy to access by car, especially with Google maps, and a very manageable distance to drive from New York City. Two king bedrooms + bathrooms makes it perfect for four people to hang out for the weekend, and the large, fully kitted-out kitchen is perfect for preparing a feast together (using fresh produce from the Cold Spring farmer's market) while listening to the awesome record collection/stoking the woodfire (but there's also central heating if you're feeling lazy). Mr. B was a perfect host — friendly, responsive, and always following up, from reminding us to pick up firewood on the way, to just making sure everything was working smoothly. And the visitor's guide you'll receive upon booking is both beautifully presented and comprehensive, like a user manual for the house and the surrounding area — it made us feel right at home before we even arrived. I couldn't recommend the Treehouse more — we all had such a gorgeous weekend away, and will have fond memories of the place forever!
Mister Basquali is a thorough and welcoming host, his 37-page visitors guide is a masterwork, among other things. If anything, his description undersells the setting as well as the level of amenity of the house, nothing's missing and everything looks cool. The house is in a fantastic natural setting, feels like a campground as you enter with picnic table on one side and fire pit down the sloping hill. The "treehouse" name is apt - the second floor open bedroom is at the 20-30' height of the surrounding trees.
The Pudding Pad is an amazing weekend retreat. Lovely house and a few steps from a scenic lake. Basquali and his great dogs made the trip even better!
