My girlfriend and I had a blast at the cabin. Steve was great to help us out on short notice, as another place we were going to stay had frozen pipes. The place is maybe 15 minutes from the Homestead, which is great to be able to pop over to for dinner or a drink. The fireplace was amazing, and the cabin has everything you need to cook meals. It had snowed a lot leading up to our stay, and we couldn't use the driveway (I have a 4wd vehicle, but you would've needed a tank), but the walk to the cabin from the road wasn't too bad. Overall, it was an amazing weekend.
We did not get to meet Steve but the place we stayed was exactly what was pictured! We kept in touch and the check in and check out time was very flexible. The drive up was absolutely beautiful! Even though there was snow on the ground and it was cold outside we felt warm and comfortable indoors! We really enjoyed the openness of the kitchen and from the back porch we could see the river flowing through the backyard! The place is in walking distance to Waterwheel restaurant which is delicious! A little bit pricey but for the quality of the food it was worth the convenience. We also booked massages at Warm Spirit Spa and both Linda and Annette are amazing at what they do! I suggest if you are looking for a relaxing stay, book ahead of time with these two lovely ladies! Jefferson pool is not too far up the street and we were feeling adventurous and took a walk there from here. We definitely see ourselves coming back in the future! Thank you for sharing your place with us Steve!
Steve was responsive and organised in responding to our original request, and follow up questions. The back (newer) part of the house is beautiful, and cosy but the original (older) part of the house is a bit cold in winter (would be lovely in summer). There's only one bedroom in the newer part. There's a great fire place, and the kitchen has all the amenities you need for a home-cooked feast. If there's a chance of snow during your stay I'd recommend leaving your car at the top of the drive as it could be tricky to get out.
Steve was an excellent host. The house was spotless when we arrived and everything was in good working order. We had a wonderful time and will definitely consider returning.
We spent Valentine's weekend at the cabin. We had plenty of wood and enjoyed sitting in front of the beautiful stone fireplace while the wind and snow whipped around outside. We had everything we needed for the perfect get away which added to the relaxing weekend. The skylight in the bedroom is perfect for star gazing from a cozy bed although in warmer weather the fire pit would make for great views. We spent some time soaking in the hot springs and enjoying the nearby towns. Why would anyone want to stay at the resort down the hill when this is the perfect private getaway on the mountain.
Steve was a fantastic host. His home in Warm Springs was incredible. We considered booking the place for several other trips we have planned. I would highly recommend this home to anyone staying in that area.
We had a great time at Steve's in Warm Springs. The master bed and bath was very comfortable and the skylight over the bed was awesome. Wagon wheel restaurant is conveniently located next door and is a must visit. Make reservations in advance. If you are looking for a quiet getaway I highly recommend staying here!
The cabin was set beautifully in the woods with quite a serine atmosphere. The owner's addition to the home compliments the original structures nicely. It was lovely to escape and enjoy a little peace and quiet from the hustle and bustle of our regular lives!
My husband and I loved our time at Balliceaux House. The house has been well taken care of and has everything you'll need for a relaxing Caribbean holiday. The balcony is where you will want to spend most of your time either lounging in one of the very comfortable chairs or cooling off in the pristine plunge pool. Staying in the main house, as we did, was fantastic but this would also be a great place to visit with friends as there are another 2 double bedrooms connected to the house. Bequia itself is a quiet, peaceful island and is less built up than nearby St. Vincent. All the action is centered around Port Elizabeth (a 10 min. taxi ride or 30 min. walk from Balliceaux House) where you will find a small, but well appointed, grocery stores, bakeries, and fruit stands to get you everything you need. This is where you will also find a selection of local restaurants, and bars. The host, Steve was great, organizing housekeeping services as well as coordinating our arrival with local taxi services to get us up to the house.
The cabin exceeded our expectations on every level- it was very comfortable and well put-together, it was quiet and secluded and the views were incredible- both of the mountains and the night sky. It was a perfect setting for celebrating our engagement, though there is plenty of room for others and ample outdoor area that could be enjoyed during the warmer months. We hope to return in summer with friends. Highly recommended.

You want Lainie to come to your house! She is warm and kind, madly people-perceptive, and loves to see and do new things. She will add light and happiness to any space she stays.
