bedbugs had me for l
Please avoid booking this apartment. I stayed a total of 90minutes. Truly awful.
I checked the pictures before booked it as everyone can see here, it looks cool and nice, isn't it? And actually there was something really cool, creative and artistic.. And I met nice new friends from there, none of us like been there.
It was my first Airbnb experience, the first time I've seen a real BED BUG. I paid 477.28 dollars to Airbnb, spend 7 nights at there, a room without window without air conditioner without a DOOR, I would rather call the room as a muggy CAVE. I can clearly hear the other rooms, no sound proofing, an oblique wood plank was the wall at my room, the roof was very low I couldn't stand there, and the sheets was ... Well, I don't even want to remember anything about the room.
BTW, the building's roof was pretty nice, spacious and nice view, but at weekend midnight I heard people running above like thunder comes..
Bye NYC, Bye Airbnb.
We stayed 4 nights in the apartment. The loft is good, the area is great with all the restaurants and shops around the corner. The connection with the subway to Manhattan was really good. The roommate from Bertold was there and some other Air bnb users, we have seen a couple times or never.Bertold was not there. He was also traveling. The roommate was friendly, let us in, and explained us everything.During the weekend it was loud lopbecause of some parties on the roof. The roommate has a dog and live there with her
husband. We haven't seen them so much. The worst thing were the room without a window (it was small, only the bed) and that it is allowed to smoke in the apartment. The smoke was (website hidden) was especially annoying during night because there was no window in the room. But besides this we had a good time in NYC.The neighborhood is a good place to stay.
My stay at bertrams was nice, and I enjoyee the place, it had everything as promised. And be a great spot for checkig out williamsburg. Easy and good
I stayed at Berthold's girlfriend's place in east Williamsburg/Bushwick. It was amazing and everything I had hoped for! Also I appreciate Berthold's quick responses, which are kind of rare on air bnb. Roommate Hannah was super cool tho I barely even saw her. I am a Brooklyn native and would definitely recommend this place. Only drawback was no AC, which only matters in the dead of summer.
Pretty easy, no-frills loft space located where W'burg turns into Bushwick. Berthold and his roommates were nice and accommodating. Great place for young people visiting Brooklyn, and access to Manhattan is easy.
I had a great time at McKibbens, however advertising this a "private room" was quite an exaggeration, and i felt quite ripped off paying this much for what is basically like living in a tent. I lived on a mattress on top of the bathroom, with the only thing separating it from the rest of the loft where thin curtains.
The area is really interesting and really close to the L train that take you directly to Manhatten in no time.
The host was friendly and helpful but the place is a bit messy and there is many people living there. However if you, like me, like meeting new people this is a plus, as the people living there (at least when i was there) where really nice and friendly.
If you don't mind giving up some comfort and privacy and love to meet new people then this might is the place for you. The place have an great rooftop with good parties and interesting people. But if you are looking for a place where you can be relax after seeing New York, this is not the place for you.
To sum up: Expensive if you compare to what kind of room you get. What you do pay for is the great location and the rooftop.
The Loft is situated in the best part of Brooklyn, with fast subway Access to Manhatten, all the other persons who stayed at the loft were laidback and cool. Perfect place if you want to experience the arty / clubscene of Brooklyn
