I love to travel and have been fortunate that my husband and I saw many amazing places across the world before having kids. Now that we have kids our travels have slowed a bit and we stick closer to home for vacations...but we notice our kids are getting wanderlust with our recent journey's....yay!
When travelling we look for a clean, safe, and relaxing environment to sleep in. We are not fussy or looking for lots of frills because when we travel we want to see the world, not the inside of our room!
I don't know how I would ever decide my favorite place to have visited....I can say, "That is my favorite place," about many destinations. I love the chill lifestyle of San Diego. I love the colors of the Painted Desert...I literally cried when I saw it on my 31st birthday for the first time. The food in Paris tastes amazing even at truck stops so I could eat there everyday! The Great Wall of China was magnificent and overwhelming in his simplicity and complexity. The hustle and bustle and kindness of the locals in Venice makes me wish I could live there. The stunning architecture throughout Germany took my breath away many times. The church where Maria Von Trapp married George Ludwig Von Trapp was lovely. The maglev train in Shanghai is still one of the fastest memories of my life! Walking through Auschwitz was painful and still hurts my heart when I reflect on my time there. Jumping into the Mediterranean Sea from a huge rock off the coast of Spain was exhilarating and humbling.
If I could make my way in this world travelling, I would love to, but I think I might be a slow traveler and would prefer to live in each place for months or even years on end!
