I'm a wanderlust traveler from Philly.
Julia's place was just perfect for a few days in Philadelphia! There is a bus right across the street and the subway is not far. The organisation was uncomplicated and worked out perfectly. And we got to look at Julia's work too! We recommend it vivedly!
Julia was so nice and extremely accommodating, she met us at the train station which we arrived into and personally delivered the keys and addressed any concerns or questions that we may have had.
The apartment itself was lovely and exactly what we were looking for. The space is quite spacious and everything was convenient and easy to use. The neighborhood was really nice as well. Julia was a wonderful host.
Julia was a great host. She made sure I had everything I needed. She went above and beyond by offering rides as I didn't have a car and wasn't familiar with the city.
My girlfriend and I stayed in Julia's apartment for one night. The place was amazing! We really enjoyed looking at Julia's photos on the walls and, and we both thought the place was very well decorated. I would definitely stay here again!
Julia's space is beautiful! She was very accommodating, helpful, and made our stay easy and fun.
Julia's place was great! The building's a little funky, but her apartment is bright and clean with a comfortable bed and lots of her cool artwork on the walls. We also really liked Memphis Taproom pretty much across the street from her place. Julia was very communicative and checking in and out was super easy. I'd definitely stay again.
Julia was SO easy to communicate with, and hospitable all the way! Her apartment was so cozy and beautiful, and her artwork is gorgeous. It was very inspiring to stay in her place!
Julia's place is perfect for 2 people (that are a couple). Nothing fancy, but just exactly what you need - clean place, comfy bed, efficient kitchen, powerful shower, easy & free street parking in a neighborhood that has lots of gems for food, drink & art that are in walking distance.
We also walked to the L train for a 5 minute ride into downtown & south street area.
Julia was very easy to communicate & coordinate with and she even checked in (via text) to see if we settled in OK. SHe also gave a great list of walkable places in the neighborhood.
We found Julia to be a helpful, very responsive host. When we had a bit of trouble getting to her apartment, three phone calls - to Julia, a friend she provided as a contact, and her MOTHER yielded a plethora of information. When we made it to the house, Julia stayed on the phone with us, just to make sure we got in the doors ok!
The apartment itself is lovely - decorated with Julia's own photography as well as a variety of cute knickknacks and artwork. Across the street is the charming Memphis Taproom, where we ate dinner our first night. We also enjoyed the farmer's market down the street, and an adorable bakery called Whipped which is a short walk away.
It was a fantastic place to stay, and highly recommended.
Julia was very prompt in answering questions, providing details for check-in, etc. Her space is very well designed and great for accommodating guests. The internet is somewhat slow/spotty, but it's only an issue if you have vital work to be done in anticipation of wi-fi.
Her recommendations of places to eat, visit, and resources were great. The neighborhood restaurant across the street has amazing food, great beers, and really friendly staff.
I would love to stay here again and really enjoyed the neighborhood feel of the place.
Julia is awesome! And so is her place. It is so creative, clean and was a great place to stay for my visits to Philly. The area is AWESOME and the people that live there are very friendly. The apartment is right across the street from the Memphis Taproom and just a hop, skip and a jump from a sweet lil coffee shop and the EL! Julia and her Unique Space gets 5 stars from me!
I first met Julia in Europe, while she was having her artist residency in Holland in 2011. Julia has an open-minded, cheerful and laid-back personality and we became friends soon! Due to my studies I am traveling through the US now for a couple of month and and Julia helped me in so many possible ways to settle - like finding places to stay or connecting me to people. Also, I visited Julia in Philadelphia for a weekend, where she made me feel welcome from the very first moment. Her apartment is a bright, neat and very lovingly decorated place, good to chill, work or just spend time, alone or together. Phialdelphia I remember as a great place to visit, beside the impressing sights e. g. in Independent NHP there are a lot of innovative art spaces, cozy bars and restaurants to explore. I myself consider Philly as a "chilled Version of New York" and I am sure Julia does her best to make all of her guests feel as comfortable as possible in her cozy and unique, artistic home!
