I have worked as a Chef and Pastry Chef for the past 5 years on small expedition cruise boats in SE Alaska. Time off found me going hiking, bear watching, fishing and making new friends over kelp pickling. Having both a degree in Outdoor Education and graduated from Culinary School in Vancouver, BC, I have bridged my interests in wild, local, sustainable foods, travelling and nourishing people with beautiful meals while experiencing an awe-inspiring landscape and getting paid. The past couple of winters I have lived on houseboats in Seattle which has introduced me to a unique style of housing and an adventurous minded community. I am a laid-back, quiet, clean person whom always travels with a backpack, a good book, walking shoes, and food to share. I am always interested in trying new foods, visiting new places, animal lover, enjoy time in the outdoors and getting to know people. I love walking and hiking and learning about places. Italian and Thai are my favorite styles of food (and even worked with a Thai Chef who liked to make fusion meals for staff that we joked was called "Thaitalian."
Recently I finished a boat season working in the San Juan Islands of WA and in the Great Bear Rainforest of BC. It was on my bucket list to see Spirit Bears and finally accomplished this with First Nation Guides near Princess Royale Island while walking the same river as the bears that fished for their winter sustenance.
