Check in with Katherine was easy and she was polite and I loved the (email hidden)ose to the subway. The apartment was superficially clean but the bathtub tile had mold. It is a steep walk-up and it is really more than 4 flights up as you almost walk up a full set of stairs just to get to the 1st floor. I found the microwave as we were leaving(it was in the closet on the floor so I really can't tell you if it works). I spent 2 days there with my sister and niece and slept on the couch. The couch is a futon and is quite hard. My sister said the bed was comfortable.
Katherine is a very nice host and I had a hassle free experience in my interactions with her. The place is centrally located. However I found the neighbours to be noisy and was disturbed by loud music on one of the nights.
Katherine was great, easy to deal with and very accommodating. The apartment is in an awesome location.
There was a great experience at Katherine's apartment. She is very nice girl. She resolved all of our problems and she was very easy to contact.
The only thing that was a surprise for us, was that the apartment is a little bit different than the pictures. The building doenst have elevator and it is an old apartment.
thank you for your apartment we had a good stay. apartment is ideally located in a lively area. and if you are on the fourth floor without a lift but this does not bother us. very quiet location with restaurants nearby. thank you a lot.
We likes the stay in your apartment. We left 30$ in the case in the Livingstone, because the glass from the lamp in the washroom is Brocken. Sorry!!
We hope that this is o.K. for you?
We go out of the apartment at 12.00 am.
Thank you for housting.
Christiane and Florian.
Nice apartment. Great location in the East Village. Clean and sunny.
Katherine has been very helpful of replying the questions before and during the trip. We had a late checking during the first day and my flight got delayed for almost a day so I didn't get to meet Katherine in person. My travel partner who got a chance to meet Katherine the first day has mentioned that Katherine has being very welcoming and friendly who shown up punctually.
The apartment was located in east village area and well connected to all the public transportation. Union square was just a 10 mins walk away from home and train ave.3 and ave.1 were just right outside the door. Plus there are amazing take away places (Mimi Chegn's dumplings are just amazing) , bars (Bar Veloce) and beautiful restaurants nearby. Highly recommended for the first time travelers. The internal part of the apartment needs to be renovated, it was comfortable but the bathroom was old, there are markings on the porcelain and there are some corners are not very clean. But as travelers traveling in New York City with certain budget, this is a fine choice. And as the website has described in advance, this apartment was at 4th floor, for people travel simple with only one luggage might handle it well. But for people staying with lots of luggages might consider a little issue.
There was a hit water problem of the whole building the first night but gladly they fix it the second day efficiently.
I stayed in Katherine's house for 10 days between july and August together with my son 12, .
She was very friendly and collaborative with us.
the building is located close to the L line subway and two blocks from Union Square.
We had a great time; the apartment is exactly as shown in the pictures, small but clean and well furnitured, perfect for two people.
Katherine was wonderful! She was welcoming and thorough in all her communication, and we found the studio to be just as described. It was perfectly clean, and the neighborhood was fun and lively as one would expect for 14th St and 1st Ave. The bed was amazingly comfortable, and the apartment was kept tidy and sparse so that we had plenty of room to set up our own things, even hang clothes in the closet.
We had no problems with the three flights of stairs (after all, it is NYC!), and enjoyed the courtyard view from the windows. Katherine also helped us to find luggage storage for our last day in the city, when our flight didn't leave until 8pm.
I enjoyed having Katherine's family at my place very much. It was a real pleasure having them as my first Air Bnb guests. =) They were very nice and polite and left the place in tip top condition. I would love to host them again at any time...! =)
