Very comfortable, perfect for my short stay in NYC. Katherine was very responsive and thoughtful. A great experience all round. Thank you!
Katherine was very quick at responding to emails and willing to help. We met her briefly on arrival to collect the keys and get a rundown of the apartment.
The studio is on the 4th floor (no elevator, and very difficult with lots of luggage!), is bright and quiet (a huge plus in Manhattan!). The bathroom and kitchen are a bit worn down but are fully equipped. I would ensure enough toilet paper for number of guests and length of stay, and that bedding is adequate (a top sheet would have been nice), as well as some hand towels. The sofa bed is fine for one person however is not comfortable – quite hard!
The experience was OK more due to the neighborhood than the actual apartment. The apartment itself while advertised as updated is not. The plus is the bed is comfortable and the unit is quiet given that it's located on one of the busiest streets in NYC. We also thought it would be appropriate for Katherine to provide soap for shower and not just some hand soap for sink. A second set of keys would have been appreciated as well. A mat outside apartment door would be nice too.Again on the plus side Katherine was responsive.
Katherine was great at following up prior to us arriving in NYC. She was at the apartment on time to greet us and provided us with information about the neighbourhood and public transport.
The apartment, though in an old building, was clean, neat and had all the amenities we needed for our 6 night stay. Given that the building is probably quite old, there is no elevator, so be prepared to walk up 4 flights of stairs with your luggage.
Really enjoyed our stay there in a warm, cosy apartment in a very convenient location - close to so many shops, cafes, restaurants and the subway.
My mother, her friend and I stayed in Kath's apartment for a week. Kath was sweet and flexible, and the apartment has a super location. Unfortunately, the apartment was slightly dirty. Visitors should also be aware that the sofa bed is short and quite hard, and can be a challenge to sleep on for a whole week.
Katherine responded quickly and friendly to my emails. We met her briefly to collect the keys.
The studio is exactly like the pictures. It's on the 4th floor (no elevator), and it's bright and quiet. I'm wondering when the studio was renovated exactly, like the title suggests, since the bathroom and kitchen are a bit worn down. They are fully equipped though. The studio is very close by the subway and nice restaurants. Union Square and Whole Foods :) are within walking distance.
To sum it all up: we had a great stay in Manhattan!
Hi, I didn't meet Katherine as my girlfriend collected the keys. We had great communication from Katherine and I understand she was prompt in meeting my girlfriend and dropping off the keys. The apartment was neat and clean and in a good location. Katherine left us a few clean towels for our use. The flat is on the 4th floor so there are a lot of stairs to get you there. Inside, the apartment was neat and clean. We didn't use the kitchen at all, but the bathroom was clean and functional. Overall, a good stay for a weekend although if I were staying longer, I probably would have wanted a bigger place.
The stay was great! Nothing to complain about.
Katherine was wonderfully helpful with my arrival and departure times. Since she had no one staying at the apartment the days I arrived and left, she let me check in early and stay until I left for the airport.
The apartment was perfect for what I needed. I love the East Village, and it was a great location. The shower was a typical NYC shower--not brand new, so a little grimy, but there's nothing to be done about that. There were a few hairs on the bath towels, but the towels were clearly freshly cleaned, so it wasn't a big deal. Also, Katherine left me a hair dryer to use, which was really helpful and generous!
I would definitely stay in Katherine's apartment again. She was lovely, as was her apartment.
Katherine was very easy going and seemed happy to help. She let us in the apt. early and was easy going about check-out time. It was a great location and met our needs. We were a family of 3 and she only gave us 3 towels - no bathmat, hand-towel or washcloth. I missed having something on the bathroom floor. We also wondered why there was no top sheet on the bed - just the duvet cover (I hope she washes it after each use!) and if you want to use the coffee maker, you need to bring your own filters. The keys she left were bent and we needed to use extra-care when turning the locks so they wouldn't break inside the lock.
I enjoyed having Katherine's family at my place very much. It was a real pleasure having them as my first Air Bnb guests. =) They were very nice and polite and left the place in tip top condition. I would love to host them again at any time...! =)
