My wife and I are really confused at your negative comment as you and your husband came over twice to inspect the apartment. You came over yourself on August 30th and told us how clean the apartment looked and you stated we had kept it in a better condition then yourself. The morning we were leaving on September 2nd your husband and yourself came over 20 minutes early to inspect the property. You both told us everything was perfect and you even drove us to the train station!
I left a very positive review for your apartment so I really cannot understand why you would leave such a negative comment like this.
Just in regards to the negative private message you sent me…I really think there has been a misunderstanding. Your friend John who met us at the apartment had told us he had stayed there for several weeks. He did not leave it in the cleanest condition for us but we thought it was to petty to complain about to you and we really did not want to cause you any stress as you were on holiday. And just to let you know we do not eat cereal and there was only enough illy coffee to make one coffee when we arrived so I had to fill the container several times.
We’ve stayed in 20 Airbnb apartments over 2 years now. As you can see below all comments have been positive about us.
Just so you know the negative comment from Mata in Milan, below was a misunderstanding where she thought we had burnt her wooden bench top but in fact it was just a water stain that later evaporated. We got to her message a little late which is why we could not defend it.
The previous negative comment from Davide in Florence was because he had not told his parents who were looking after his apartment while he was in France exactly what needed to be cleaned up before we left. So there was a slight miscommunication between his parents and himself.

Thanks for your review Davide. Its unfortunate you never clarified that you wanted us to clean to a certain level or standard. We cleaned it as best we could based on the fact that were getting a professional clean done before the next tenants moved in.
We cleaned the microwave, bathroom, swept up, had laundry ready and cleaned all bench tops so I'm not sure what we left unsatisfactory.
We have never had a bad review regarding our cleanliness or how we leave a rental, so it's disappointing to hear as it would have been good if you had clarified how much you wanted us to clean and we would have done so! You will have to be more specific to tennants in what you what cleaned and to what standard next time you rent the place out....
