Very nice, cosy appartment in a picturesque neighbourhood with all comfort. We felt very well. As it is situated in the 4th floor, the walking up was a bit tiring, but our boys of 6 and 3 enjoyed the stairts very much!:) Mark provided us kindly extra a children seat for our 9-month-old baby. We recommend Kreuzberg to everyone who hasn't been there yet!
Mark's place was a wonderful place to stay. The location of the house is great and U-bahn Mehringdamm is close by from which you can reach most touristic places quite easily. There are lots of supermarkets as well nearby. Mark is a very nice host and is very helpful. The house is really big and 5-6 people can easily stay. We had no problems with our stay and I would totally recommend stay at Mark's place.
Cosy and Warm, which pleasure to wake up in this quiet and restful place, Thank you very much and i hope we will come back... Simon and Malika
Hat alles super geklappt. Wunderschöne Wohnung, tolle Bibliothek :)
Jederzeit gerne wieder.
We got a warm welcome by Marcs sister-in-law when we arrived. And this was the start in a wonderful stay in our Berlin-week. We enjoyed the young and friendly atmosphere of the appartement. The kitchen allowed us to make coffee and tea spontanieous we only had to by the milk. Every thing was very o.k. We really felt like home. Thank you a lot for your guestfriendship!
The only thing we missed was a CDplayer. We could not hear our music, because we didnt't have our laptops with us - but i guess, that this is an exeption - today everybody has his I-pad odr I-phone or I-pod with him...
Go to marcs appartement - its just great!
Mark and his family was great and did everything they could to meet our needs during our stay in Berlin. We did not meet Mark and there was some confusion about exactly which building the apartment was in, but we were able to figure it out with one phone call to Mark. The bottle of wine waiting for us was a really nice touch, along with all of the travel maps and books in English. There is no microwave, but the espresso machine was great! The apartment is on the 4th floor, so make sure you are willing to walk up 4 flights of stairs as there is no elevator. If that doesn't bother you, this is a great place to stay in Berlin. We would recommend this apartment to our friends and family with children. Thank you Mark for a wonderful stay!
Very happy that Mark and family chose to stay at our house during their tie in NYC.
Could not have asked for nicer people or more considerate guests.
Always welcome back!
Mark and his family were ideal guests. They left the apartment immaculate upon check out and were very easy to communicate with beforehand. I would invite them back any time!
It was my pleasure to host Mark at my apartment, Mark and his family are welcomed back any time.

Besides being very kind and generous people, Aycin and Mark are pretty fun to be around. I’ve known Aycin for a very long time now and she has always been the type of person that makes people feel comfortable. She and Mark are laid back and have a good sense of humor. They appreciate quality jokes and tolerate the bad ones, even the very bad ones. (thanks guys, I love you)
Last summer I stayed at their place in Berlin for a few days. I couldn’t feel more ‘at home’. Besides their limiteless attention, perfect coffee (thanks to the new machine) and celestial breakfasts, their place had perfect access to everywhere I needed to go. I had a great time, as always.
I stayed with Mark and his family for 10 days in Aug of 2011.
Rare is the kind of easy-going generosity you get with Mark and his wonderful wife. This was my first trip out of the USA and I was nervous, I didn't want to impose or fumble with cultural differences. I was afraid I would get overlooked because I could only speak English, but Mark and Aycin went above and beyond making me feel welcome. They made me feel like their home was my home, and with Mark and I sharing a strong fondness for espresso, his making a cappuccino in the mornings for me right when I'd wake up left little to yearn for about being back in the states. :) It's a good thing my husband and children were in the US waiting for me or Mark & Aycin might have gotten a permanent house guest out of me.
I really fell in love with this family when they showed their adventurous side and suggested a "quick road trip" to Paris!!!--- with their new infant to boot!!! I don't think I could ever provide the proper amount of gratitude deserved for their unending generosity, open hearts, and fun nature that made a trip I'll probably have to wait another decade to make again, unforgettable in the meantime. I will always be forever grateful to them.
Mark is easy to talk to, has a knack for good music, great taste in wine, espresso, and food and you end up feeling like you've known him a lifetime when you part company. He's a gem.
