Hi! My name is Christina and I am a chef with an environmental studies degree currently living in San Francisco. I love to travel and recently discovered Airbnb and it's blowing my mind! I really hope I am able to use it more in the future. I am a big fan of getting lost and learning new things and not a big fan of being a tourist and doing touristy things so it seems like Airbnb will be helpful for that.
Somethings about me to help encourage you to let me stay at your place:
I love backpacking, cycling, running, and being outside. I love reading about food, eating food, making food, writing about food, and talking about food. I dislike bad coffee and when I have to miss the local farmers market. I haven't owned a car in ten years. Right now as I type I am listening to a mix of The Knife, Deerhunter, Zola Jesus, and Kurt Vile. I am really great at Bananagrams, making people laugh, and, frosting cupcakes. I co-authored a cookbook with Sasquatch Books last Spring, do freelance writing for SF Weekly, and, like so many others, also have a food blog ((website hidden)).
Five things I can't live without are:
- coffee (with cream and sugar)
- my bike (it's a Surly Long Haul Trucker and it is the best)
- floss (I like my teeth)
- music of some kind (radio, ipod, record player, whatever)
- fruit (it is delicious!)
So far my favorite travel destinations have been Vancouver BC, Isla Mujeres, Mexico, and Reykjavik, Iceland. But if I could go on any adventure again I would re-visit cycling the west coast from Canada to Mexico (2007) or thru-hiking the Pacific Crest Trail (2005). Those were both epic journeys that I hope to do again someday.
To have me as a guest you can expect me to follow the rules (my Dad was a teacher and therefore I have become awesome at rule following) and be respectful of your space. I don't smoke, have any pets, or have any special needs and I promise to remove my hair out of the drain should it somehow end up there...
