We are two retired people . We have a studio apartment in Seattle we have rented on Airbnb for several years. We support organic farms and look forward to seeing one.
Brian and Paula are good host and very helpful .I recommend there home to everyone.
I booked this apartment for my grandparents for a long weekend in Seattle. They loved it. They said they had a great time and that Paula and Brian were great hosts. They would recommend this place and would definitely stay again.
Brian and Paula are amazing hosts. Its just like staying with family, I recommend this place to ANYONE just wanting a cozy place not too far from the city, and the price is amazing as well. 5 stars!
Paula was very thoughtful in lending us her "pack n play" playpen for our infant to sleep in. Her basement suite was spacious for the three of us, allowing us to have a comfortable stay. The amenities (fridge, microwave, stove, kitchen ware, etc) was very useful. The shower and toilet can be a bit small for some people, however still useable. If you are on a budget and want low key accommodation with a pleasant host, I recommend Paula and Brian's place.
Paula and Brian were super friendly and amazing hosts!! I've subletted in other cities before and the King family is BY FAR the best host I've ever subletted from. They were home when we arrived and Paula gave us a tour of the place. I have to say it's much bigger than I expected and from what the pictures indicate. Paula had a binder of things to do in the city and was available for any questions we had. Plenty of towels and fresh linens with the oportunity to request more if needed, but we didn't have the need. I really enjoyed staying there and will definitely recommend the place for my family who comes to visit me in Seattle.
The studio was adorable and equipped with everything we could possibly need and more. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
If you're traveling to Seattle on a budget, I don't know how you could do better than staying with Paula and Brian. The space is huge, with its own small kitchen and bathroom. Don't expect Belltown hip; the space is more post-sixties funk. It's just moments from I-5 and an easy surface-street drive to all points north.
Paula and Brian were wonderful hosts in the most important way. Staying at their house is like staying at a friend's place without any stress. The fair trade mint chocolate bar was a delight!
Arrived early and Brian was there to get us settled. Enjoyed staying there, it was close to Seattle and had everything we needed. Paula and Brian were very accommodating and helped us out with the city.
Paula and Brian were great hosts although we were so busy we didn't really take full advantage of their hospitality.
The location was good for our purpose (trying to rent an apartment in the city-which we did) because it was chill after a long day of searching and it was close to healthy eateries at the start and end of each day.
We could easily get into the city from the rental without having to use the freeway which allowed us to see neighborhoods we might not have.
The basement studio was better than I expected at this price point. For the cost of a couple nights at an interstate motel we were able to unpack and spend an entire week in a more homey environment.
We got gourmet organic take n' bake pizza & wine from ZAW and rented a DVD one night, and cooked a full dinner (groceries procured from an awesome Co-Op not too far away) one other night. The kitchen was totally workable.
I will say that while other reviewers seemed thrilled with the comfort of the bed, we weren't so much, but that is a highly personal kinda thing.
If you are a big person (like me) the shower is a squeeze. In the bathroom is the studios only tiny mirror. A full length mirror somewhere in the apt would be helpful (especially for job hunters) for the insecure.
Paula laid out a little coffee and local chocolate spread which was cool. And the place is setup for easy recycling and composting too.
All and all an above average option for budget travel to Seattle.
