Fun stay for sure! The location of this site is great, just minutes outside of downtown Berkeley. Rob and the family are very kind, and ensured I was comfortable & taken care of. Very clean & nice house to go along with it.
Rob and Laura are a very warm and kind couple! They were very welcoming and offered snacks and made sure my stay was going well. I really enjoyed the experience of staying in an Airstream trailer! I've thought of purchasing one in the past, so this gave me the opportunity to try it out! Unfortunately, there was no fully functional toilet in the trailer. If you need to go, they've provided their bathroom inside the house, just a tad inconvenient if you wake up in the middle of the night and need to use it. Besides that, they are in a great location - 2 blocks from the BART, walking distance to Whole Foods, around the corner from an awesome Irish Pub that provides free music/entertainment most nights. I got to take a free Irish Cieli group dance class there. Classes have been running longer there than anywhere else in North America (what a unique experience). Thank you, Rob! It was wonderful staying with you and your lovely family!
The Baedeker's were excellent hosts! Rob communicated thoroughly before the trip and made sure we had everything we needed during our stay. The trailer was cozy, a bit tight but it was expected. The bed was surprisingly comfortable. This was a great first experience with Airbnb!
What a cool experience to have in the middle of Berkeley! Rob purchased an awesome, old-school trailer and fixed it up. While it's a tiny space, it's packed with everything you could ever need from a comfortable bed and working stove to a bathroom (however, I'd recommend simply going inside to use a real-world bathroom). There's a pantry with some foodstuffs (watch out for those mini TJ's oatmeal cookies, they're addicting), a few electrical outlets for your digital needs and a working sink. You have to pump to get water but we could all use a little work out in the morning. The trailer is in Rob's backyard and you have access via a easily accessible gate. You can then access Rob's house from the back which leads directly into his kitchen.
The area is great as well! You're 100 feet from one of Berkley's best bars called the Starry Plough which has live music/slam poetry almost every night. You're also about 6 blocks from the Ashby bart which makes it easy to get to and from San Francisco. Remember! The bart stops running a little after midnight so make sure you don't get stuck! The OWL bus is not very fun...
Rob and his wife are both freelance writers/editors and are great to talk to. Great experience.
Rob and his family were great, courteous guests. I'd welcome them back to our place anytime.
It was a pleasure to host Rob. He is a very nice and kind person. I recommend him.
Rob is a very nice host and eveything was perfect.
Rob is a perfect guest, very kind and polite, he left all clean and tide. In a few minute he became just like a friend of the family. He has a very good vibration, so nice to feel this energy at home!
we absolutly recommend him
I was touched to have Rob has a guest - that he chose my accommodation to others in Geneva - as he himself is a pioneer and active member in hosting at airbnb.
Rob is a very interesting and kind person, we share some lovely talks. A definite 5 star guest to have!
