we are a gay couple who live in Washington Dc. I work for Human Resources and my partner is a travel agent. we are quiet, but we like to go out to the beaches and sometimes to bars, discos.
Great cabin in a beautiful area, perfect as a peaceful escape from the city. Full kitchen, lots of hot water for showers, grill, hammock and a hot tub that works sometimes. .. when the electrics are willing to cooperate. IT IS A CABIN - there are bugs everywhere, the mattresses are a few steps up from true camping, and you will need to bring your own towels and sheets. Accept it, love it, and you will come back dreaming of a cabin of your own. Thanks Andy!
I had an wonderful stay at the Rustic Farmhouse. Andy was very helpful and responsive in discussing the house and its accommodations. This is the perfect getaway from the city - but only for those who seek a quiet, outdoorsy, do-it-yourself experience. The house is accessible by a gravel road. We cooked breakfast and dinner each night using the fully stocked kitchen and charcoal grill outside and chopped some wood to fuel the wood stove.
The area surrounding the house has a plethora of hiking and outdoors activities. Given the location of the house, you are no more than 45 minutes or so from almost any part of the Shenandoah National Park. It would recommend that anyone who comes out either brings or purchases a detailed trail map for the area. We learned about trails that started very close to the house just at the end of our stay.
In short, I was looking for an opportunity to get out of the city (Washington, DC), enjoy the outdoors, and live simply. This was a great venue for that goal. Thanks Andy!
Andy and his partner were very nice people and already knew the city of Rio. The comunication between us was perfect all the time, either through e-mail or cellular connected by Airbnb .
