have traveled the world and enjoy having people from all walks of life come and experience what Niseko has to offer.
What a great time! Very fun crew, seconds away from the shuttle bus and minutes away from the Banzai lift. Had a very good experience.
Miranda was a great host, the hooting owl lodge is a great place to stay in Niseko and meet like minded people. Breakfast is top notch and the morning shuttles to the lift make this place a no brainer.
Staying with Miranda at Hooting Owl Lodge was a great experience. I didn't get the chance to stay there myself, but Miranda kindly put up three of my good friends and they had great things to say about the Miranda and the Lodge.
The lodge itself is a cozy little place, located at the bottom of Niseko Village, near the bus stop to Hirafu etc. and a short ride from the slopes. There lots of wood panelling inside so the whole place has a cute alpine getaway kind of feel to it, and the common lounge area has a bar, huge table, big TV, and lots of comfy seating. It was a great place to hang out (something I'll get to in detail later). The dorm room we stayed in was on the small side. The bunks where spacious, so that in itself wasn't an issue, but there was an extra bed in the room. My friends' only gripe: This made the cozy room for four that we were expecting a slightly cramped room for five.
The real charm of Hooting Owl was the atmosphere in the lodge. Miranda is warm and friendly, and the other staff and customers wasted no time in making everyone feel right at home. They offered a lovely selection of goodies from Costco, and my friends were greeted with a welcome shot off of a splendid 80's neon ski to kick off their stay. It was New Years Eve after all!
Communication before and during our stat was thorough and prompt, and Miranda also organised a taxi to pick up one my friends arriving by bus.
All in all, a lovely place to call home if you are in Niseko for the season!
Great place for hardcore skiers. I was travelling alone for a week but was introduced as soon as I checked in to other people I could hang out with.
The management team are great people, friendly and fun. Thanks a mil to Miranda, Kenji, Jen and Dave for a great week, and for showing me around some of the best backcountry in Niseko.
Shared rooms are comfy and warm. Communal area is very nice with couches and cushions to chillax on. Good warm showers.
great lodge, awesome staff, epic location!
This is very laid back atmosphere and a fun house to stay in - the staff are very friendly and Miranda cooks a killer breakfast!!! I look forward to visiting again one day!
