Lewis' apartment was exactly what we were looking in terms of rest and tranquility the day before we ran the la marathon. the location is optimal for easy access to downtown, echo park, and hollywood. there are some wonderful cafes, parks, and evening walks all around the neighborhood making it a very charming place to spend a weekend in LA. Lewis was very attentive and generous despite having just come back from Australia the night before, and the apartment was impeccable. + The bed was very comfy for a perfect night's sleep. Thank you again
This house was nice, cozy and spacious enough for a couple. It is very convenient in its location and is really private because of the garden. Lewis is a great host and we were welcomed with food and wine, that puts anyone in a great mood :-). Unfortunately we were in LA when the rain poured like crazy, but it was still warm and comfortable inside.
Lewis contacted me with the check-in instructions and they were very accurate. The place is super comfy- bed soft and fluffy and everything you need in the kitchen. The flowers and plants outside the door smell heavenly. Parking wasn't too difficult and it was a nice quiet spot for a stay during the week.
We didn't actually meet Lewis at all, but his place was lovely! The breakfast food and bottle of wine he provided were a really nice touch. We only stayed a couple days, but it would definitely be a nice place for a longer stay, too. The bed is very comfy and the kitchenette was quite adequate for our breakfasts and to cook some pasta for dinner one night when we didn't want to go out.
Would be 5 stars, but the guests upstairs kept leaving and returning late at night. Not Lewis' fault obviously, but we could hear EVERYTHING from downstairs.
Also, parking on the narrow, steep street was a little terrifying for us, but we just parked on Glendale and didn't mind the walk at all as the weather was nice and it was currently blizzarding back home—though I understand that people from Los Angeles simply don't walk. Anywhere.
Lewis little place is wonderful, bright, well-provided, stylish and with a great view up to the skyline from LA. Silverlake is an interessting neighbourhood and we really enjoyed our stay there. Although Lewis was not there, everything was well prepared by his helpful friend Deanna.
Lewis and our family were like ships in the night. We came from down under to his lovely home and he went down under on holiday - so we missed each other. This didn't stop him from being a great host though. He left us a delicious bottle of wine upon arrival. The house is beautiful, tidy and in a great neighborhood. We had a wonderful time staying there and hope to use it again next time we're in Los Angeles.
We really enjoyed the studio. Great location. No issues finding parking. Nice quiet neighborhood.
Excellent. No problems and nicely outfitted. Good location.. Lewis provides reference to some fine restaurants but there are many more within walking distance which we found on our own.
Lewis was a wonderful, friendly host, and his bungalow is a perfect little haven in a brilliant location. The place is clean, beautifully decked out with everything you'd need and if you can tear yourself away from the AMAZING bed there is a vibrant little community within walking distance (if you don't mind big hills!) I never even left the silver lake / echo park area in my 3 days, there's so much to see, do and eat! Would definitely recommend, and will be staying there again on my next trip to LA.
Lewis was a very hospitable host. The studio was cute, cozy and very charming. We stayed for 4 days and prepared most of our breakfasts with the equipment provided. Trader Joe's is nearby so it's easy to do some light cooking if you want. There's even an oven if you want to be ambitious. We would consider staying here again when back in LA. I would recommend just parking on Glendale Blvd. and walking. It's not a long walk just steep. Cove Avenue is a very winding and narrow street and it's hard to find parking.
Lewis was an awesome guest. Totally respectful of our place and was nice enough to watch our cat too! Couldn't recommend him enough and would definitely have him stay again.
Lewis was the perfect guest, great communicator and easy going. i did not meet him in person as i was already out of town when he arrived but he left my place clean and tidy. thank you Lewis!
Lewis is an excellent guest. Very nice, clean and responsible. The communication was very good. Everybody will enjoy to have him in his place...for my part..he can come back whenever he wants..and i hope he will do so. Thank you.
Lewis is easy going and good to have around. He's a top host on airbnb and just as good a guest to have at your place.
Great guest. Careful and honest. With long emails communicating all a host needs to know. Thanks for staying at my place. Welcome anytime!
Lewis is very friendly and communicative and was a pleasure to have staying as a house guest.
I have been a guest at Lew's house on many occasions and will testify to its uniqueness. An epiphany of Silverlake living, his subtle habitat is packaged with greatness, a cool sense of design and clean California feel, amidst a natural landscape that surrounds it. I highly recommend this experience, if you are visiting California for the first time ... or have become addicted already.
Lewis provides a home away from home for anyone visiting the Los Angeles area. Nestled in the heart of Silverlake you are not only close to some of the hottest restaurants but also the reservoir that has a running path around it and park to lounge or play.
Lewis' bungalow has the right mix of class, comfort and style. You'll feel equal parts right at home and as if you're gracing the pages of a style magazine. Plus the coveted outdoor areas make you feel as if you're escaping from the city beat.
I've known Lewis for years -he is the quintessential host. He has created an oasis in Los Angeles with unparalleled views, a spa-like tranquility and this unnamable feeling of security about the world around you. (try it - you'll see. it's amazing) He's a genuine people person who is there for you whether you've known him for years or just met. I'm proud and lucky to call him a friend and if I didn't already LIVE in Los Angeles, I'd be staying at his bungalow at every opportunity.
I've stayed at Lewis's place a few times now and it is a wonderful oasis of warmth and tranquility. When I come to L.A. it's important for me to stay in a place that feels grounded and serene. Lewis's place is the epitome of this. It is set high in the Silverlake hills amongst beautiful trees and garden. It has a really fantastic kitchen and bathroom; incredible living space that is all windows and has a very stylish bungalow vibe with great views; great office/workspace and cute bedroom. Wonderful outdoor places to sit: front balcony, back deck, front garden setting amongst lovely trees. Lewis has infused his place with wonderful energy and his impeccable sense of style. It is a very stylish sanctuary. It feels like a
home. Highly highly recommended!!
I consider myself lucky to have been a frequent visitor of Lewis' very special hilltop bungalow. Surrounded by windows that offer vistas of the tranquil garden surrounds, it is truly an oasis in the hills of Los Angeles. A beautiful home outfitted with stylish decor and luxurious amenities, it has a wonderfully warm and relaxing atmosphere, and proximity to all of the fabulous fun LA has to offer. It truly feels like "home" and would provide a great base for anyone passing through Los Angeles.
Lewis is a lovely person with a lot of integrity and his home is very special. I have spent many hours at his place with my daughters and it is a warm and welcoming space, with a stylish and unique design aesthetic. It has great views and is surrounded with beautiful plants that adds to a combined indoor outdoor feel. Once we arrive we never want to leave!
