Home is a sacred place to relax and recharge.
Despite the absence of Alex, everything was perfectly organized for our arrival.
(someone was there to greet us very detailed explanatory note on the apartment and the area, water bottle and breakfast provided).
The apartment is very clean, very comfortable, very functional, very well heated and very zen. Practical bathroom (towels, shower gel and soap provided).
We highly recommend it.
The apartment is close to metro lines 1, 2, 3 (about 5 minutes) and lines B, C, (about 8 minutes).
The neighborhood is very quiet and close to Central Park.
We with my husband spent fantastic 5 days in these apartment. From the 1st letter till the last moment Alex was the greatest host ever!We were so happy to live in her apartment. She gave us great advices about area and during our trip was very helpful. The apartmet is like u see on photo-very clean, bright and sunny. There is everything you need-clean bathrom,wi-fi ,great area, super atmosphere in place,kitchen-if you want to cook smth-(but we didnt use it-there are plenty of cosy places around)the area is fantastic-7 minutes walk to National museum,5 minutes to Central park, very calm area with lots of restaurants and cafes. The subway is 7-10 minutes walk.Great place to stay in NY and to live.We definetely recoomend this place to all our good friends. After noisy day in NY coming back and spend evening in cafe near these apartments is a great pleasure. We were lucky that alex let us stay in her apartment and we will always have only best memories about her hospitality and kindness. We will miss this place and for sure come back and stay there.
This apartment is a quiet oasis in this exciting city. You can never expect a better location: upper west side, quiet street, 1 or 2 blocks walk to central park and subways, many great restaurants and organic food markets. The apartment is very well-designed and extremely clean. The bed is large and VERY comfortable. What make this apartment more fantastic is the host. Alex is one of the most warm hearted person I've ever seen. Whether you've been to NYC before, Alex will take care of you from beginning to the end. Living there is a unique experience for us. It's feels like our home in this city.
Alex's studio was absolutely wonderful for our week and a half visit to NYC. From beginning to end, Alex was an absolute joy to deal with. She was extremely responsive and willing to help us work out the details of our stay. She even happily returned my coat by mail after I left it.
Her place is in a great location for museum visits, and generally for experiencing the Upper West Side like a local. The place has easy access to both the red and blue subway lines you can get almost anywhere with a single transfer at most. The neighborhood is very safe and there is a reasonable selections of shops, delis, restaurants, etc within a few blocks.
The apartment was immaculately clean and thoughtfully decorated and laid out. The only thing I wish I knew going beforehand was that it is a 3rd floor walk-up. It would not have changed my decision to rent this place, but I would have brought less luggage!
Thanks Alex for creating a beautiful and relaxing space in the midst of hectic Manhattan.
The best way to sum up my experience at Alex's apartment is to say that all future trips to NYC will be planned around whether or not her place is available.
From the very first moment I contacted Alex, she was wonderful. Communicative, prompt, flexible, and a pleasure to rent from. My trip was very last minute, but she made sure everything was perfect and when I arrived at her apartment I couldn't have been happier. It was gorgeous, peaceful, very clean, and just like the photos. And the location? Amazing. Just a few blocks from multiple subway lines, Central Park, the Natural History Museum, and tons of great restaurants, bars, and cafes. I'm originally from NYC and I'm quite picky on location, but her place on the Upper West Side was a great homebase for my week-long stay.
Other than providing such a wonderful apartment, Alex also went above and beyond - calling to check on me when NYC wound up getting a freak mini blizzard during my stay and urging me to borrow her winter boots. Thanks for saving my feet, Alex!
Alex is a fantastic host. From day one she was timely and prompt with her communication with me and always approachable.
She is also incredibly helpful and willing to assist - she provided to me a lot of information and tips about the apartment, the neighbourhood and also New York City which was very handy.
The apartment itself is great - absolutely immaculate, comfortable and also quiet. It is located in a nice neighbourhood, conveniently close to public transport and other amenities.
It was always good to return to the apartment after a long day of being a tourist. I would definitely stay again.
I stayed in the apartment for 5 nights during the first week of November 2011.
I really liked the fact that the apartment was immaculately clean (!), bright and calm. It is located in a great neighborhood in which you can find any shop you need within 2 blocks away.
With several subways also within 2 blocks it is perfect to visit New York City. Central park is also very close and beautiful!
87th street is quite calm so I found the neighborhood safe, also very late at night.
Host Alex provided enough tips for dinner, coffee and overall visits for 3 weeks instead of one!
Great experience, host & apartment!
The apartment was immaculate and had everything I needed for my week's stay. The location was awesome. Only 1 1/2 blocks from Central Park and 2 blocks from the subway. Great restaurants and shops, all within walking distance. Excellent stay and I would stay there again the next time I'm in New York.
Alex is wonderful human being and also a great host.
The apartment is very conveniently located for people who enjoy the proximity to Cenrtal Park and also close to public transport.
I had a wonderful stay at Alex's appartment. The location is perfect just one block from Central Park in a quiet tree lined street. There are plenty of shops and cafes within a block so you can pick up anything you need very easily.
The subway is also one block away and gets you straight into the heart of the city, shops, cafes, tourist sites.I would recommend walking though via Central Park.
If you are a museum fan then all the museums are in this area. So you are within walking distance from the Natural Museum for instance.
The appt itself is very quiet, no noisy neighbours. I slept well every day of my 14 day stay. The room is a Zen heaven and is decoured as a place of quiet reflection. After a day in the active streets of Manhattan it was nice to return to the quiet of the room too. Wifi is available and very good speed. There is a kitchenette for doing some of your own cooking. Shower is brilliant I have to say.
Alex was a truly helpful host and provided details of all the local amenities from cafes to tourist sites. She kept in touch to make sure all was going well through out my stay.
I will be visiting New York again soon and will definately be looking to stay at the Zen studio
Alex is very good people...I dont have problem with Alex, very cool, and have good education...love you Alex...
Alex is a wonderful person. We enjoyed hosting Alex at the house. Left the place very clean and tidy. We recommend anyone to host Alex any time and would be very happy for another visit!
A delightful young woman.... kind, sweet, responsible, quiet, independent. As an airbnb host herself, she appreciates what it takes to be a good guest in your home. I hope she returns, as I loved every time we crossed paths in the house.... a lovely person inside and out.
Alexandra was a perfect guest, clean, quiet, and sweet. We would love to have her back whenever she needs a place to stay.
