Petek was zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam, haar appartement is sùper - ook hele toffe buurt met veel design winkels, galeries, gezellige café's en eethuizen, … De prijs is heel redelijk voor wat je krijgt. Els
The apartment was exactly as described and Petek was very welcoming & friendly. The location is perfect, close to some great bars & restaurants as well as Galata Tower & Galata Bridge. We found a book on the Culinary Backstreets of Istanbul (kept in Petek's apt) particularly helpful in discovering really wonderful Turkish food & wine. I would definitely recommend Petek's apartment for your stay in Istanbul.
Petek was a great host from the moment I first contacted her. Our flight arrived very early (4:30am) and she was awake and waiting for us at the door to the apartment when we arrived. She gave us directions to give
To the cab driver and we arrived quickly to her place. her apartment was a great size and perfect location. We walked everywhere in the city and never needed public transportation (we like to walk a lot!) the apartment was very clean and a great size for a couple. This was our first airbnb experience and we can't wait to try it again thanks to Petek and her apartment.
Petek is an amazing host. I lost my iphone on the day of our arrival and she spent more than 2 hours with us on the first night helping me to try to recover it: she took us to the police station, to the bus station and back to the police station. Making sure that we followed every step we could to find it. It really seemed it was her who lost her phone. Luckily I recovered it! They found it the following day on the shuttle bus - but it would have been possible without Petek’s help. On top of her excellence and kindness as a host, her flat is perfect: beautifully decorated and cosy with a really confi bed (dangerous to get up early!). And the location is very convenient: close enough to Sultanamet (you can easily get there by tram) but in a more chic and bohemian area than the old city, with plenty of cafes, galleries and cool shops just around the corner. I would highly recommend Petek and her flat for your stay in Istanbul and will definitely come there in my next trip to Istanbul. Thank you so much for everything Petek!
Petek was an amazing host! Right from the time I first contacted her about staying in her apartment, she was very informative and helpful. She spoke to the cab driver while on our way from the airport so that my friend and I don't get taken for a ride..!
The apartment was in a very cool neighborhood in the city. There were interesting little cafes and art galleries right around the corner, and was very accessible to all public transport. It was very close to all the touristy spots, but didn't feel like a touristy neighborhood in the least bit.
As for the apartment itself, it was the perfect size for two people. It was very clean, and had everything one needed. It was right next to a general store, so you could get a light snack, supplies, etc if you forgot to bring some with you.
I definitely recommend this apartment for your stay in Istanbul!
Petek was brilliant, easy to communicate with and full of great hints and suggestions. The apartment was well appointed and perfectly positioned to take advantage of all the major Istanbul sights. Would definitely stay again. Thanks Petek.
I stayed at Petek's flat for one week and didn't miss anything. Kitchen and bathroom have full equipment, the bed is comfortable, there are many novels and other books about Istanbul, so it is no problem at all to find all the interesting places easily. The flat is not far away from İstiklal Caddesi and from tram-stop Tophane, very central, but in a (more or less...) quiet neighbourhood. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there for a second time.
We had a great 4-day stay in Istanbul thanks to this very nice apartment in a charming part of the city. This is one of the best airbnb listings I have encountered: the apartment is not only very well furnished but also very well decorated. It really feels like a home away from home...
Petek was a very nice host and provided us with nice recommendations on restaurants and activities in the neighborhood. Thanks again!
This truly was a home away from home and is exactly as the reviews state; it kept us warm during two days of snowstorms. The location is superb, in a charming part of the city with cafes, restaurants and antique shops lining the streets. Petek recommended great restaurants, including nearby breakfast shops (don't miss), excellent hot chocolate and a beautiful restaurant steps from the front door. Petek is a fabulous host.
We enjoyed staying in Petek's flat, which is cosy, clean and well equipped (including satellite TV, a dishwasher and a washing machine, although we didn't need to use the latter). The flat was also warm, a factor not to be neglected during winter! Another detail to mention: the coach is as comfortable as the bed. Petek gave us a most friendly welcome upon our arrival. I would certainly stay at her place again.
Petek and Marco were lovely and respectful guest. I certainly recommended them as guest.
Really enjoyed getting to know Petek while in Istanbul! She's very welcoming and always happy to lend a hand or give a suggestion. I'd definitely recommend benefiting from her hospitality while you're in Istanbul!
Petek is warm, friendly, hospitable and has a great sense of fun. A delight to spend time with and a wonderful person to get to know. She is quite simply the bees knees!
if you are a traveler on the road of life, you will love the "room with a view" experience while in turkey. after a week in a hotel and amongst the tourists of sultanamet, i walked across the bridge and into another realm—the "room with a view" experience: the real istanbul, the neighborhood grocer, the cafe around the corner, the laundry on the balconies, the local video store, the yoga place. cihangir. (you'll even learn the correct pronunciation if you stay a few days in its heart, where you will find, petek's place.) i lived there for 4 weeks (dec 2009 - jan 2010) and instantly felt at home. comfortable. stylish. affordable. accommodating. these words fit both petek and her place but don't capture the extraordinary memories i have from my time there. when asked about my 'favorite' part of turkey, i think of standing on the balcony and seeing the lights on the mosques at night and the snow covered roofs and the warmth of home far from home. that is turkey for me. teşekkür ederim, petek!
