The location was a bit difficult to find for the taxi guy but the place was OK and the staff helpful!
Excellent central location, clean rooms, surprisingly huge bedrooms & bathrooms. Highly recommended.
The room was as described and was a nice oasis from the busy street life of Mumbai. Though language was a slight barrier with some of the young men who lived there, they were very friendly and helpful with any questions I had. The AC works great, and there's an overhead fan too if you are super hot, though I was quite comfortable. The wifi was not so strong in the room, at least on my iphone, so I had to stand near the door or in the hall to maintain connection. Otherwise, great basic accomadation and very near the airports and decently close to the Santacruz train station. There is a delicious restaurant on SV street on the same block as the room. Would stay here again. Thank you.
I had a comfortable and pleasant stay. The Patel family are friendly, cultured and hospitable hosts. All doctors too! The staff is great as well. I spent a fair amount of time interacting with everyone and really enjoyed it. As a woman traveling alone, I was interested in safety and found I had made the perfect choice.
The location is excellent as well, on bustling SV Road in Santacruz W. There are plenty of shopping options within walking distance. The train station and airport are close by, taxis and autorickshaws are plentiful to take you to central Mumbai or other suburbs.
I would agree with the other reviewer that the planes taking off and landing from the domestic airport are very noisy. I slept well but wouldn't recommend the location for a light sleeper. In all other aspects it is excellent value. I'll definitely be back.
Me and my husband spent five nights in the appartment in Worli and enjoyed the quiet space and yet central location. Our hosts were helpful and took the trouble to get the internet and water filter working, and gave us tips of a taxi to use.
Although the kitchen could have been a bit cleaner and better equipped, we only used it for simple breakfasts and didn't really care.
The flat could do with some simple renovations to give a better feel to it, but overall we were happy with our first airbnb experience.
The place is nice and big. Accommodated 6 adults and 2 kids comfortably with extra mattresses for more guests/children.
It is as clean and tidy as you can expect in Mumbai. The kitchen is a little run-down, but otherwise clean and had stove, microwave, fridge and a water filter. Bed/linen/towels were clean, although a little old. The place has air-conditioning, but we used the fans instead, which was quite comfortable. Bathrooms were clean, but a little old. Hot water was electric instant (took a few minutes to warm up, but worked well after that), and the shower did it's best with lower water pressure common in Mumbai.
WIFI was available throughout most of the house and was a broadband reasonable speed (maybe 1-2Mbps). Good enough for holiday surfing.
Traffic noise was reasonably low as the building was not in a main road.
There is a flat screen TV with cable (all non-english channels at the time).
There (email hidden)-in male care-taker that slept in the Kitchen, which was a bit strange at first, especially for the ladies. The care-taker spoke no English at all, so that was a bit of a problem for some of us (some of us can understand and speak a little Hindi). He took care of cleaning the house, washing clothes and getting some supplies (bottled water, bread etc.). I'd recommend locking the bedroom doors if you feel uncomfortable with this situation. There is a slide latch from the inside of each room (be aware of small children locking themselves in!), and a key lock.
It was a little difficult to find the place and describe the address to the taxi driver at first, but asking around a few people in the neighbourhood (showing the address to them) got us there reasonably easily. It's off the main road with a few shops and eating places within a 5 minute walk (with some providing free fast home delivery). Juhu beach is only a few minutes away by auto-rickshaw. Taxi's were a bit of a problem to get away from the main roads.
Friendly security guards at the building gate keeps unwanted people out of the property.
No big mosquito problems... slept with a mosquito repellent plug-in over night.
Overall it was a great stay for an incredible price.
Évitez !!! Dur a trouver, chambre insalubre, mal situé. Une vrai galère du coup payez pour rien on a préfèré changer de plan et pourtant on est pas difficile donc fuyez cette guesthouse!!
Dhawal and the other people at this place were very helpful. I very much enjoyed talking with the family in the evenings. I also enjoyed joking around with the boys despite the language barrier between us.
Wonderful location convenient to train station, the airport, and all the expat locations in Bandra West. Dhawal was responsive and accommodating to our needs and we enjoyed our stay immensely.
Overall we were not satisified with this accomodation.
- It is very close to the airport, train station as well as the taxi stand.
- Surrounding area is also safe and better for families.
- Bedroom has a good working AC which is a must in Mumbai atmosphere.
- The water supply was erratic. 2 out of three days that we stayed, we had no water. Had to wait for an hour to get water to even brush our teeth.
- No hot water. There is supposedly solar heater but it never worked for us (probably connected to erratic water supply).
- The utensils and kitchen area is very dirty and we couldnt bring ourselves to use it.
- Bed linen and towels also need some cleaning.
- Apartment is on the third floor and the staircase leading to it is slightly narrow. So if you have some heavy/moderate luggage be aware of this.
Jenin is a delightful woman. We really enjoyed her positive and enthusiastic spirit. I admire her energy! She genuinely appreciated what we had to offer, graciously complementing our cooking and was open to the experience of getting to know each other while sharing a space.
