BROOKLYN NY. Artist/Production/Design/Food.
Great location and exactly the kind of start we needed for our vacation. Brittany was out of town, but she was very communicative via phone and email. Gaining access to her place was easy, and everything was as described. We shared a bath with her roommate, which was expected and totally fine. Since we were in NYC to visit family, we were looking for a place to crash at night, and Brittany's place was perfect. Location was ideal too - just steps from the subway and only a few short blocks from Prospect Park. Highly recommend.
Unfortunately, the place was disappointing. I went in the middle of summer and it's a garden apartment in NY, but it had a bunch of bugs in the bedroom and kitchen. I had to move the bed away from the wall so I didn't get crawled on by a roach / centipede. Also, the upstairs roommate left a bunch of dishes in the sink and came home at 2:30 am and did them. I needed a place by the F/G subway line, and this was in a fantastic location, but it was dirty, the floor had dead bugs on it, the blanket on the bed was stained and ripped. It made my trip to NY considerably less fun.
Brittany was very accommodating and courteous. Her space in Brooklyn is perfect for accessing Prospect Park and bars, restaurants, shopping near by. It was easy to find parking near her apartment. The living space was clean, comfortable and unique. I would definitely recommend staying there!
My stay at Brittany's place was perfect for me. The apartment was a 2 minute walk from the subway...great!...and Park Slope is so friendly and safe, and, not too busy! Also, it is just minutes away by foot from Prospect Park, the Botanic Garden, and Greenwood Cemetery...nice. The apartment was spacious, neat, and clean. I had plenty of privacy, and, although Brittany does not live there, I had a very pleasant housemate who does live there. It was a good stay for me, and I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to any female who would like to stay in Brooklyn! Tina
We needed a last minute stay in Brooklyn as our place for the night had fallen through. We contacted a bunch of people from the plane to NY and Brittany was sweet enough to accept our request to stay.
The apartment is in a great neighborhood with lots of restaurants and coffee shops. It is also close to the subway. The apartment is nicely decorated and clean. We had the downstairs to ourselves as she has a roommate that stays upstairs. We met her roommate in the morning and she was sweet enough to let me borrow her steamer and steam some wrinkles out of my dress I was wearing to a wedding that night.
The apartment is close to the subway so you may hear rumblings from time to time. I say that for light sleepers but I slept great! Great place to stay!
