I've been living in Austin since 2009 and I absolutely love living in this city. I travel quite a bit, so I hope you are able to enjoy my house while I'm gone!

The Zilker house was a great location. It was quiet & was as described. My only suggestions are to add some sort of closet to hang clothes. There was no coffee pot or kettle to boil water. No hairdryer provided which was inconvenient since we were flying. Also could not find a can opener. These are all just minor inconveniences and Scott was a very nice & helpful host. This was our first experience & found it a little strange to have the owners clothes in the drawers and personal items around but maybe this is how it's done?
This was the perfect stay for us during our visit to SXSW. Clean, cozy and just outside the action made for a welcoming and productive weekend. Thank you Scott!
Scott was an extremely accommodating host. He made himself readily available whenever we needed anything, and was very flexible when our plans changed unexpectedly. The guesthouse was clean and cozy.
The location is superb. Great food all nearby. Gourdough's public house...so damn addicting with those donut sandwiches!
The bed was comfy, showers good, everything is updated with a clean and sophisticated look and feel.
I was moving into Austin for a new job, and I was able to park a 17' Uhaul in the drive, very close to the place. Put me at ease that nothing would happen to the Uhaul. Not that it would, it's a pretty amazing neighborhood it seemed like.
If you can afford it, do it, it's nice! My dad, who helped me move into town, even said the couch was super comfy.
Scott provided us all of the information we needed ahead of time to make our arrival go smoothly. The house was perfect for us; it was located very close to our family whom we were visiting -- within walking distance. Also, the house was very close to stores, restaurants, and the downtown area. Since there were only two of us, the size of the house was perfect as well.
The house is located in the backyard of the main house where others live. Very quiet setting.
Zilker Guest House...our new favorite place to stay in Austin! From my initial contact with Scott, he was friendly, easy to work with and prompt in responding to questions I had. The guest house is just as it is pictured and was exactly what we were looking for. Located just off Lamar provided easy access to local eateries and made travel about Austin easy as well. We were there for Thanksgiving and ate outside on the deck. It was a perfect day and the neighborhood was great for a walk after our feast. A memorable Thanksgiving for sure! We hope to stay at Zilker Guest House the next time we're in Austin.
First time using AirBnB and it was really easy, but be aware I have nothing to compare to.
Scott's place was nice, clean, and modern. Hardwood floors were a nice touch. A great space for a number of people - depending on the use of an air mattress or how cozy the two travelers will want to get. It's basically a studio with a pseudo wall put up to delineate the "living room" from the "bedroom". This wall has windows on it, so privacy is non existent.
The air mattress was huge and easy to blow up, the couch was nice and comfortable, and the queen bed was great. He uses feather pillows - which I am not a fan of - so be aware. Just throwing that out there - do with it what you want. The water pressure in the shower was worthy. The TV has no cable, but didn't really impact us.
The people in the main house have dogs that are cute and hop around a lot. The porch is great, although you know you're in someone's backyard so it feels slightly awkward.
First time in Austin, but location seemed pretty legit. Off South Lamar is never a bad thing. Neighborhood was nice and felt safe.
All in, with the air mattress, I would recommend for three dudes, two couples, or two people that don't want to get cozy.
Scott seemed nice, although we never met. He was responsive and gave me his number for text / calls if anything went wrong.
Conclusion: rent this place. Clean, up to date, and safe.
Excellent place. The kitchen is really nice. Perfect for a couple wanting to check out Austin. The location is very hard to beat. Would rent again.
Good location. Responsive host!
Zilker guest house was conveniently located, very private but close to everything, restaurants , shopping, Walgreens right across the street. Farmers & flea market, food trucks on Sundays on the corner of S. Lamar & Bluebonnet .
Nice modern kitchen, clean space, although he was out of town during our stay, Scott was easy to communicate with by email .
Great guest! Communicated with changes, very courteous. Would definitely recommend!
Great guest. I'd have him back again.
Scott is such a nice, warm, reliable visitor. It was really nice to chat with him. He is also clean for the flat and respectful person. He is always welcome to our flat whenever he wish to come again. I highly recommend him to the orther landlords.
Scott was a good guest. Clean and respectful of my apartment and an interesting guy to talk to. Would certainly have him back again.
Scott was a very nice guest and we enjoyed him staying with us. He was flexible with our needs and he was warm, friendly and personable. He was clean, quiet and we would be happy to welcome him again in the future.
I've lived with Scott in the past as a roommate and he is a very clean and organized individual. He takes exceptionally good care of his apartment and belongings, he is a friendly person who is easy to deal with, and he always gives people the benefit of the doubt. Long story short, he is a friendly guy who would be great to do business with.
