I have lived in many neighborhoods in Manhattan, including Tribeca, the West Village, the Upper East Side and Upper West Side and find they don't compare to the vibrant charm of the East Village

Great location, common areas are very cramped, but expected (and probably spacious) for Manhattan. If you're looking for humble accommodations and a place to lay your head, this should serve you great.
The apartment was exactly what we'd hoped -- clean and bright, very cool layout, great penthouse terrace that made the space intimate with the city and yet preserved privacy and security. Skylights gave the interior a very open and airy ambience, and having access via our own private elevator was a unique feature, convenient too.
All in all we couldn't have wished for a more perfect place to lodge, the neighborhood being one of the most lively and interesting in Manhattan. The care that went into the design and maintenance of the space was obvious -- and reflects the conscientiousness of the host. She was great, really on top of things, which we appreciate. Thanks very much for meeting and exceeding our expectations.
Thank you Sophie. I am so glad you had such a wonderful time and hated leaving the comfortable beds! Hope to see you again soon.

Really wonderful apartment. Located in one of the best zones of (email hidden)ni explain us everything really good about the house and neighborhood and our stay was really comfortable. I recommend this house to everybody that wants to stay in Manhattan.
Thank you! You were a pleasure to host!
What an amazing base for our week long stay in New York! The apartment is fantastic with the massive arched windows and loft style design. The place is very spacious and clean and surprisingly quiet for New York. Toni was an excellent host and provided us with everything we needed and responded promptly to any queries we had. The surrounding village is very cool with lots of trendy bars, delicious restaurants and cafes nearby. We had a list of recommendations for our time in New York but ended up just trying out the local places which were amazing!! We walked to most tourist attractions but the subway and taxis are good too if you tire yourself out. Would highly recommend staying here.
This is my first Airbnb experience and Toni made it a very easy one. She was very prompt in her initial response and checked in with us before, during and after our stay. Toni's housekeeper met us when we arrived and showed us everything we needed to know and was exactly on time when we were scheduled to leave. Toni was also able to allow us a late check out which was very handy with a early evening flight.
What you see in the pictures is what you get with the Glass Loft. It is exactly how it is represented. There is lots of light and open space in the main area and the place was generally well cleaned and equipped. The roof top view is something that is definitely not promoted heavily enough though, it is AMAZING and well worth some extra ticks for the property. The area the apartment is in is great, with lots of places to eat and cute bars everywhere you turn. The street the loft is in initially seems a little dodgy, but it really isn't and there is a great juice bar just at the entrance to the apartment which also has good coffee, we frequented there daily. There are also a number of supermarkets within close walking distance, including a Wholefoods market which my husband and I love after a previous stay in Washington DC (we don't really have places like that in Australia!). There were lots of extra towels and bed linen available as well if you were staying for a longer period. The kitchen was well equipped and the wifi was also very reliable if that is important for you.
There were a couple of small negatives that were particular to us and may be dependent on who you travel with. Although there are two bedrooms and two bathrooms, one of the bedrooms overlooks the main sitting area and if the person in that area is asleep it is difficult to sit in the main area without disturbing them. This was particular to us as we were travelling with my mother who liked to go to bed early which meant not being able to watch TV or sit on the couch and have a chat without disturbing her. There is a TV in the main bedroom though. We also had some warm weather while staying and the bedrooms were quite hot, particularly at night, even with the aircon on. This didn't bother me too much but my husband is quite temperature sensitive. Both bedrooms are also quite dark.
Overall though we would definitely recommend the Glass Loft mostly because of the area and the ease of stay facilitated by the host!
Toni was wonderful ~ easy to get in touch with and was gracious about accommodating my arrival & departure schedule. The neighborhood is great (especially if you're vegetarian/vegan) ~ so many delicious eateries within walking distance! The loft was lovely and spacious as described, and we felt right at home. There was plenty of extra pillows, clean linens/towels, eye masks for sleeping, a stovetop tea kettle (my personal favorite perk), etc.
My only complaint would be the beds. While being previously described as new in 2013, the beds were less than optimal/comfortable. The spring mattresses in both rooms felt like they had lived their life. The second bedroom mattress was slightly sunken in on one side. I usually just accept things as they are when nothing can be done about it in the moment, and it was fine for the week, but it would be a factor in considering whether to stay there in the future. Toni seems to go out of her way to accommodate her guests, so I have no doubt this issue would be given sincere consideration. My sister and I would LOVE to stay there next time we're in the city, if something was to be done about the comfort of the mattresses. The location is perfect to where we spend most of our time in the city and the loft itself is wonderful!
Thanks Sara! Glad you enjoyed the loft so much! New mattresses will be delivered shortly!
Toni was a great host, she was on top of communications prior, during and post stay. We had a few delays when arriving in NY and Toni was always available for contact ensuring we were kept up to date with changing check in plans.
The apartment was great, just as it looks on the pictures. The double height living room was such a bonus in NY where apartments are generally quite cramped. The flat has two bedrooms, two bathrooms and two real beds which is a bonus. As a party of 4 (2 couples) the place was perfect.
The neighborhood was great in the East Village, loads of great bars and places to eat. It's a real cutting edge place compared to other areas and gives a real perspective of NY living.
Given the chance I would happily stay in the apartment again.
Thanks Steven! looking forward to having you back!
We were 7 woman, who lived in the apartment for five days and nights. We didn't see Toni, but we get in touch with her by email. Everything was as expected. The beds exept one were a little to soft, but it was clean and Toni was aleays available by email for questions. The neighbours unfortunately are not amused that she rent the apartment, but we didn't have troubles at all. Thank you Toni for an unforgetable stay with you.
I know Toni to be constantly vigilant about keeping her place well maintained and free of problems so if you want a unique and worry-free stay in a great East Village apartment location, I definitely recommend her place.
I've know Toni for a long time and she's terrific. We first met at colleagues and soon became very good friends. Early on in our friendship I reached out to her for her help in a very important project I was working on and she was a huge assistance to me. I knew early on that we'd become life long friends. I have lots of friends and family that I have recommended Toni to as an Airbnb host and they rave about her home and their experience. Her neighborhood (East Village) is also one of the huge highlights that everyone buzzes about after their stay there.
I have known Toni for about 10 years. She is a very caring, reliable person and likes for things to be done right! Her apartment is fantastic and she's a great host.
I have been friends with Toni forever. Her apartment in the East Village really is stunning and anyone who visits New York City would be lucky to stay there because it is so unique and the neighborhood absolutely can't be beat. There is so much to do and see just within a few blocks of the apartment. If you have an opportunity to stay there you will love it!
Toni's apartment is a rare gem in the East Village which in the best place to live in New York City!
Toni and I met when she moved to the East Village over ten years ago. Toni's apartment is not only beautiful, it is also huge which is a rarity in New York where the real estate prices are among the most expensive in the world. I wish it was my place!
Toni and I are friends and neighbors in the East Village. Her apartment is truly one of a kind and the envy of all her friends!
I have know Toni for over a decade and she has one of the nicest apartments i have ever seen.
