Quick version: I love traveling, EXPLORING, hiking, LEARNING, cultures, food, people, LEARNING and creative things. Yes, I know I said LEARNING twice :-) As I engage the wonderful things of life, I seek to leave places better than I found them. My perspective: Life is good and sometimes great, and traveling and learning new cultures, while meeting people all over the globe is definitely one of the great parts!

Expanded version: I am an adventurer/creative type who is a former "rocket scientist" (previously worked at the Johnson Space Center for the Space Shuttle until the program was ended). I was blessed to work on many international and literally "out-of-this-world" projects with folks from all 50 states, many Europeans, Russians, and Astronauts/Cosmonauts, etc...but that chapter in my grand adventure is now over. My goal when leaving NASA was to LEARN more about the world and myself. My adventures now are of this wonderful world, including volunteering, traveling, learning and entrepreneurship.

And oh...I am essentially an amateur "social psychologist". In my travels, I ask a LOT of questions, which has helped me to learn about the world and about myself. But, only when given permission to ask...I am, after all, a gentleman from the South.

I grew up dreaming of adventures as a kid in South Louisiana-USA. I call it the nation/country of New France. In or around the 5th grade, I made it a goal to circumnavigate the globe. I lived that dream after leaving NASA on my "sabbatical". The 5-continent, 11- country adventure really advanced my knowledge as I learned from amazing people and cultures all over the world in a 48-day world-wind adventure.

Places traveled on 6 continents include: Rome, Venice, Florence, Milan, Paris, Barcelona, Moscow, St Petersburg, Buenos Aires, Santiago, Paris, London, Singapore, Shanghai, Amsterdam, Antwerp, Berlin, Prague, Vienna, Athens, CapeTown, Johannesburg, Kuala Lumpur, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Christchurch, Queenstown, Auckland, Honolulu, Anchorage, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, St Martin, Aruba, Cancun and Vancouver ...& more to come...

And oh, if you live near a University, that's cool with my hobby, which is visiting Colleges and Universities - I am now up to 258 visited, mostly in the US, but in several countries around the world, as well. I told you I loved to learn and to explore. I wonder what will be campus 300? And how many when all is said and done?

While International traveling is awesome, so is domestic travel - I have been lucky enough to have visited all 50 STATES - another 5th grade dream accomplished. With 6 continents visited, it is a matter of time till Antarctica (Continent 7) to complete the 5th grade dream!

After leaving my space gig, I opened a brain training center, which identified and targeted cognitive skills weaknesses, and then provided brain training to transform a person's learning and performing capabilities. Basically, I helped people get smarter. I have sold that business, and I am now volunteering and training to become an Executive Coach/Consultant, and then no telling what... One day, I intend to become a professor at a major university....or maybe a very small college... Or, maybe I'll charter my own...:-)

And, of course, I am always looking for an excuse for more travel, learning and hiking :-)
