I was lucky enough to grow up in California, in a small seaside town, and as a result, deeply value my connection to the natural world. Other things I love are art, literature, good conversations, cats, and psychology. I live in the suburbs and must drive for my commute, but I much prefer a bike for transportation.( and don't like the suburbs so much.) hmmm, to be more specific? Favorite books: currently reading lots of books about tiny houses and sustainable home building for a project I am working on with my students. One of my favorite travel destinations is Tassajara, a Zen Monastery in the Ventanna Wilderness. I go there every summer to hike, meditate, and live in community.
I want to travel more and more: my 20's and 30's were spent struggling to pay bills and figuring out my career, and so now, I want to do some of the travelling I missed! I think the only area of travelling I may be high maintenance in is my diet: I prefer to eat organic, and watch fats, oils, sugar, etc. I also don't like loud noise. ( :
