Everything was absolutely perfect! Annie was very communicative and accommodating. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed, we only hope to be able to stay again during the warmer months. It was a great place to relax and enjoy the Driftless Area!
I got sick at the last minute, but my sweetie still went to the the Red Clover Cabin and had an amazing time taking walks and cozying up. She sent me photos the whole weekend and I can't wait to get to go sometime. She also said that Tommy was very nice and helpful.
The red cover cabin was exactly what I was looking for. Two old friends and I were looking for a rustic but comfortable cabin experience in a beautiful, quiet, rural area, and this was it. The downstairs was perfect for lounging and games and conversation, and the upstairs was almost laughably perfect for us, as there was just one big room with three beds. Tommy was super hospitable and gracious (Annie was out of town while we were there), and made us feel totally at home. The trails on the land were really nice, and we loved exploring the area.
What a truly beautiful and relaxing place. We came to Red Clover Cabin to get out of Chicago and to explore some of the outdoors. This was the place for us! We really felt at home and welcomed and comfortable which is actually really remarkable when traveling with two year old twins. We made Sunday morning pancakes to a Patsy Cline record, took a hike up to a lovely lookout, picked our own apples at a small nearby orchard, napped by a big sunny window, cooked hotdogs and s'mores on a campfire, and looked up at the most amazing starry sky. Hello Milky Way! We left for home refreshed (and sad to leave!) Annie and Tommy were so easy to communicate with, helpful in their suggestions and just great hosts. We even went home with a squash grown by Annie's family. What a special place! As we drove away both of the kids looked out the windows and said "Come back sometime?" about 45 times. :) We certainly hope to.
The Red Clover was a delightful abode- small enough to bring the family together, yet designed in such a way that evoked big ideas and dreams. We especially loved dancing to the tunes via old school record player and browsing through the many thoughtfully placed books. Tommy and Annie are both warm and welcoming. The cabin is situated is quite a picturesque and well maintained property. Thank you for a lovely weekend- we wish you all the best with your future endeavors!
This place is a gem. Annie is super helpful, great to talk to, and very approachable. She gave us all the information that we needed ahead of time, in perfect detail. The cabin itself is awesome, but the entire property is incredible and many thanks to our hosts for letting us wonder around! FYI: The cabin is right next to the house, but that is no problem at all. The upstairs loft is way bigger than I thought it would be, which was nice. There were even freshly cut flowers in a vase in the main space! So sweet!! If you have never been to the Driftless Area, you need to do yourself a favor and go stay at the little red cabin. There's so much to do in such a rural area. We will be back for sure.
We absolutely loved our stay! The cabin was exactly as described- quaint and charming and perfectly furnished. Tommy was very helpful and the land was stunning. Fall is absolutely the time to visit the Driftless. The area offered plenty to do- orchards and an art fair and more. We plan to return and highly recommend staying in this endearing cabin.
What a beautiful experience! Annie was out of town, so Tommy was our host for the weekend. And what a great host he is! He greeted us on our arrival and showed us around, giving us a quick tour and then setting us loose to explore. We enjoyed spending time with the goats, hiking around the farm, enjoying the apple orchard and the fantastic views of the valley. The record player (and old records!) was a treat. The sunrise over the ridge was spectacular. If you are looking for a rustic, quiet and peaceful place, this is it.
We hope to return in the winter for another retreat!
We enjoyed three nights at the cabin. Communication with Annie was very good and Tommy was welcoming, attentive, and helpful. The cabin itself was rustic and eclectic enough to be fun, but modern enough to be easy living. The cabin was clean, neat, light and accessorized with fresh cut flowers from the land. The radio and stereo with turntable were fun additions. We enjoyed using the grill and hiking the trails. The land was beautiful and peaceful. This is a great place for anybody wanting to get away from the noise and busy-ness of the city.
The location was adorable and we enjoyed our time there. Unfortunately the very hot and humid weather with no breeze and no air conditioning, we had to end our 3 day weekend getaway short:( hope we can make it back another time! There is only one window upstairs so we couldn't get a cross breeze.
Sorry to hear that, and we do hope you come back sometime. For future reference there are 2 windows upstairs and we have more fans if you need them. Take care!
Annie is a great guest, very nice, respectful and clean. Will host her again!
You couldn't rent from a lovelier gal. Annie's place is warm, sweet, comfortable, and in a fantastic location. Restaurants, coffee shops, bakeries, cafes, wine shops near by, and steps from two bus lines, one of which takes you directly downtown to the Mag mile. Annie is also super reliable, so any transaction you have with her will be easy, and her responses timely. Rent her place, you'll be happy you did.
Annie is a fantastic hostess and you'll love her place! She's got great style and an eye for warm design aesthetics, making you feel right at home. She's an awesome human being and someone you'll enjoy working with, when reserving a stay through air bnb.
