My stay with Stuart was excellent! He is super friendly and knowledgeable, the apartment is in a safe neighbourhood 2 mins to the Saunders Beach on foot, and it has everything you could need. The location is perfectly placed between Cable Beach and downtown, making it easy to grab a bus and be at either in 10 minutes. Saunders Beach is clean and mostly deserted, and a great spot to watch waves crashing and the changing colours of the sunset. I also recommend to check out Arawak Cay (pronounced Arawaki and called the Fish Fry by the locals) for a local fresh seafood experience. Only a 30min walk away and totally yum!
Stuart was a lovely and excellent host. He picked us up from the airport and gave us a lot of helpful advice. The apartment is a real find. It's a great base for exploring Nassau and works well for travelers looking to have an authentic versus a "resort" experience. Stuart also has a fabulous cottage on his property which we hope to stay at one day if we bring the kids back. Thank you for a great stay!
Stuart was AWESOME! Probably the most welcoming/friendly/enjoyable Airbnb host I've had yet who made us feel at home in Nassau. He picked me up at the airport, but my fellow traveler hadn't arrived yet, so he took me grocery shopping and then BACK to the airport to get my friend. The house is super convenient to the jitney, the beach is right across the street, and it's walkable to a few restaurants and the Fish Fry if you're down for a 20-30 minute stroll. We even locked ourselves in the unit, at one point (long story) and he was kind enough to break his own patio door (and then repair it) to get us back in. I totally recommend staying here if you have the chance!
Nice house located between Cable Beach and Downtown Nassau. Stuart is very kind and took the time to pick us up at the airport and to the grocery store. We really appreciated our stay there.
We had a very relaxing time. Stuart is an excellent host. He is very helpful, and he is always there when you need him. The apartment is and the verandah are decorated with paintings and art objects which give a lot of character to the place. We very much enjoyed spending time on the verandah. It as attractive as the photos show. There is a short walk to the local beach. Sea water temperature was 77°F, which is considered by the locals too cold to go in, but for us it was just perfect, and we swam a lot. The place is off the beaten path, but one can easily explore much of the island by the local bus 10, which stops near the house.
Stuart was extremly friendly and helpful. He picked us up at the airport and showed us some places. The apartment is how it is described. We loved it and there is nothing to complain about. We fully recommend Stuart as host and his apartment.
A wonderful week at Stuart's home, close from beaches and buses! Merci Stuart!
We stayed in the apartment for a week and used it as a base to explore Nassau. Stuart is a very helpful and caring host and we enjoyed our conversations with him. The apartment is in a convenient location for exploring the north coast of the island. Saunders Beach is a short walk down a quiet lane and is convenient for swimming. If you enjoy walking, Cable Beach is a comfortable walk, as is the Fish Fry in the opposite direction. The jitneys are a very convenient mode of travel and we used them to go downtown, and to return from the City Market. One note on walking along the shore—there is a sidewalk along the way, but the traffic on Bay Street is usually very heavy so it is a noisy walk. The apartment and neighborhood are as described, although the description mentions a sea view which isn’t there anymore--a newer house across the street blocks the water view. Overall we felt being out of a tourist zone and having contact with local residents was invaluable.
I don't want to write too much because it's my first review and I don't want to appear exaggerated; I just want to say that I felt at home all the times. Stuart is a real gentleman and traveller and I had a wonderful time with him, all the positives that you read in the other reviews are true, and more.
Thanks for everything
I look forward to your next trip here , when I can assist you in getting to see some of the other of our islands near New Providence
Perfect location to explore Nassau and Paradise Island. We enjoyed the open space which gives you the feeling of being part of the tropical garden. Stuart is a very kind host and we appreciated that Stuart got us from/to the airport. An excellent place to be!
you're both very welcome to return , and maybe visit another island as well
