California-born but after 11 years in Manhattan, a New Yorker at heart.
I had an amazing experiences staying at Matthews apartment. He was an accomodating host and was quick to reply whenever we needed help with anything. The location was pretty nice and a really close walk to the bus. The apartment in itself is great and there is really nothing to complain about!
We had a great stayed at Matthew´s. This was our second time at perfectly situated les 1 br. It is very clean and exactly as described.
we didn´t meet Mattew but everything was ok with the keys, check in and out.
Great location, and many restaurant and bars around. The metro is also near and easy to get to.
This was a great find. Very organized place; well put together. Great location in a great neighborhood.
Had a great stay in Matthew's apartment. He met us on our arrival and made us very welcome! The location is great! So many food options and cute boutique shopping (although a bit expensive) all around the lower east side and lower manhattan. If you're used to good coffee (not just instant American stuff) then El Ray on Stanton St is your closest/best coffee spot.
As far as the apartment, it's very well facilitated. Lots of towels and blankets. Not so many eating utensils. Bed is comfortable and the couch bed is also awesome. Small, but definitely enough room for 2!! I found it hard to sleep on my first couple of nights due to the noise. But you soon realize that the people on the street won't leave until the morning, and the bang and rattle just comes from the heater. So maybe ear plugs if you're a light sleeper, otherwise you will get used to it.
Overall had a great stay in New York, and Matthews apartment was the perfect location for an easy to get to, trendy, authentic experience. Felt safe the whole time! Thank you Matthew!
We had a great stay at the apartment. It is very clean and exactly as described. The only small negative is that it is quite noisy and the area on Ave D is right next to a housing project
I did not meet with Matthew in person but he was super helpful and responsive
Very nice apartment! Very clean and neat. Great distans to everything. I have nothing negative to say really..
The 2 bedroom condo unit on 10th and 43rd is conveniently located near Times Square. A short 10-15 min walk or a bus ride will take you there. There are grocery stores and a pharmacy close by so it's convenient if you want to cook yourself.
The unit is clean, comes with a full kitchen and has a full complement of spices to use courtesy of the owner. The 2nd bedroom has bunk beds with stairs so it was perfect and safe for my 2 and 4 year olds. There were two full bathrooms so that's a huge plus and the master bedroom is big. The living room couch is comfy and it had a full 6 seat dining table. The only downside is no cable TV but the place came with free wifi. Overall, this two bedroom unit is big for manhattan and ideally situated. I'd definitely stay here again.
The one gripe I have is that the lister/host was not the most responsive. He did respond eventually and provided me with all the details necessary. Everything went without a hitch. It's just that the untimely responses didn't leave me with a lot of confidence going into it especially since I was a first time airBnB-er. One thing I should point out is that the lister/host is not the owner of the unit. The owner left me a personal note/letter with full instructions about the unit, tv instructions, wifi, kitchen, heating and cooling, supplies, etc. which I thought was a very nice touch.
I would definitely recommend this place.
I stayed at the apartment while waiting for my new lease to start.
Matthew was really quick and easy to deal with, so booking and coordinating the stay at his lovely apartment was very straight-forward.
As is not always the case with these things, the apartment actually does truly look like the pictures - it was a comfortable place to stay, clean and fully equipped. A really good option for a single person or couple to stay in - I would definitely recommend!
Great location near a Subway with J , M and F lines. Nearby grocery. Strong Wifi connection. Comfortable bed. The couch/ bed is also comfortable. Lots of hot water for a good shower. Plenty of towels. Stocked with a few nice bits like coffee filters and sugar.
It is a more authentic experience staying in a neighborhood. I would stay here again. The restaurants nearby are very good. It was easy to get into Times Square.
The only bit to be reconciled with is the street noise. The street is a side street so not a big deal, but you can hear cars go by. Hey it is New York!
Matthew answered emails quickly and had a hassle free check in. Left the apartment in a tidy state. Great guest!
Matthew was easy to communicate with, clear about his timeframe and plans, and left my home clean and in tact. I recommend him as a guest, and he is welcome back any time.
I only met Matthew when he arrived. He was quiet and left the place clean. Good guest.
