The host canceled this reservation 17 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Accommodations were fine. Wiring and outlets are sketchy.. location and access was a bit of a mess... Host needs to include room number and door code in the direction and access portion of air bnb... Price is good for Cancun.... About Cancun, it is a madhouse, if you want Mexico you need to drive about 200 kilo away .. restaurants in the neighborhood are stupid overpriced... Cancun is not Mexico, it's Orlando del Sur. Just the nature of the beast. Gotta fly in and out of somewhere! Xpujil does not have an airport and campeche airport is expensive to fly from estados unidos.
Alberto was accommodating upon my arrival and the condominium had an excellent view of the ocean. Waking up to the sounds of the crashing waves made this an ideal place to stay!
Alberto met us at the studio and was welcoming and helpful. The studio needs some upgrading and from what I understand, Alberto is working on it now. It is a simple small place, but worked for what we needed- a place to stay the night before we left the Mayan Riviera. The hotel restaurant was reasonably priced and convenient. The internet was touch and go when we were there, so shouldn't be relied upon. The pool area is wonderful and the beach in front of the building is just beautiful.
We arrived very late thanks to some weather in the North East US. After asking several people in the apartment area (including the front gate person) to use their phone so we could call Alberto/Lara we eventually turned our American cell phones on to call her at 130am because we didn't know where our room was. Lara was very friendly on the phone and even answered her phone to tell us us which room and where to go. Apparently she had told the security guard to tell us what room to go to though when we told him with whom we were staying the guard didn't offer any suggestions. When we eventually got to the room it was very nice, clean and had plenty of towels. The pool in front and the beach in front of that directly attached to the property are absolutely stunning. The staff at the restaurant on site were very friendly and the food and drinks were great!
the view from the window fills the heart and eyes... Wake up and see the sunrise from the bed is simply amazing!
Alberto is helpful and respectful of the privacy of his guests.
The room is very clean and functional.
located at the end of the hotel zone (so far from the shopping and entertainment area of Cancun), in a condominium where you can enjoy a swimming pool and a reasonable restaurant.
The room isn't cheap, but definitely recommended!
We stayed in Alberto's apartment for 1 night before our flight home. It is as pictured - clean, airy and with a stunning ocean view. There is a restaurant downstairs which is reasonably priced, and 2 small convenience stores within the complex which was helpful. Great pool. Would definitely recommend staying at Alberto's.
Alberto was always available and was at the apartment when I got there. The place has an amazing view. The building is old and needs renovation But everything works. The restaurant is self owned good and with affordable prices. Don't come if you are a diva! But then Airbnb is not for divas. Me? I loved it, Alberto was a great host!
Let me start by saying we would definitely stay here again in the future! This quality/price ratio is hard to find in Cancun's hotel zone! Alberto and Laura are very nice persons and will do their very best to make you feel welcome and answered all of our questions and needs. Alberto pick us up at our arrival (NB: cheaper than a taxi and much shorter than the bus!). Make sure you understand where he will pick you up since it's outside the arrival area where all the taxis and tour companies are. It's on your left when you get outside the arrival area and you will have to pass a security gate (no return possible!). In fact it is the front departure area where all the cars are dropping out the tourist! This suite is from the 80's, so is a bit worn down by time. It is exactly like the pictures shows it. Even through the suite is regularly cleaned and well-maintained, some hard to reach places are left untouch and may attract unwelcome guest! All food should be in the fridge or in "sealed" bag or container. For us, they were a few amenities missing (cork and bottle opener and some sharp knives), we bought them at Walmart for a few bucks but we should have mentionned to Alberto because he was very quick to act on those things! On a couple of occasion he demonstrated his willingness to make the best for our stay! The location was very good for us. Even through at the far end of the hotel zone, it is well service by bus at a cheap price (10.50 pesos) and the bus stop is right at the outside and is very frequent (R-1 and R-2). We often visited the downtown area and it was almost 30 minutes away. We made our grocery at Walmart, Soriana and Chedraui. Surprisingly, the new Soriana in Plaza Kukulkan as good prices! For variety, Walmart was the best. NB: there was an empty 20L bottle with an hand pump in the room, use it instead of buying smaller size bottle that you will have to carry to the room. The downstairs convenience store was selling it 35 pesos (with the empty bottle), the Oxxo in front of the condos was selling it for 26 pesos but not worth to carry it all the way to the room! The view was the most pleasant part of our stay, even through it is a smaller opening and balcony, because it is a wide opening (twice a normal patio door), you felt on the beach! On evenings, we replaced the patio chairs with the sofa and sat down to look at the beautiful sky! We never opened the TV!! It was also an excellent air refresher as winds was going through the room! The only thing that vitiate this view was the occasional smoke coming from the next door restaurant (a pizza oven), but this happened only on few occasion...
Alberto made us feel very welcome upon our arrival to the studio. He showed us around the apartment and the Cancun Plaza and answered all of our questions. The condo was clean, well-maintained and was just like the pictures. It really had all the amenities we needed. It was wonderful falling asleep to the sound of the waves at night and waking up to such a beautiful view in the morning! The pool and pool area were great too, but we did not get to use them much because our stay was pretty short. We got around mostly using the bus, and there is a bus stop about a 1-minute walk from the condo, which was very convenient. We would definitely stay here again in the future!
